Pretty sure it slows down the drying allowing the ink to stain the surface more than it would have if it had dried faster. >_>
Also pretty sure it would only do anything if added to ink, paint doesn't stain because its pigments are suspended in the base, but ink is dye based.

Thats my understanding of how it works...

hmm, ive been thinking about this.
dot 3 doesnt stain in paint, no. but, if you like drips wouldnt it allow more time to dry, thus letting it drip more?

just throwing an idea out there. haha.

Yuuup, it does work that way.
Just don't add too much or it will drip forever and won't dry for ages.

Sort of actually, if it still has some ink in it put a bit of mineral spirits in there, then let the excess drip out...be careful, you can make a mess easily.

The nib will be hella juicy after that and wont be all streaky for awhile, doesn't make the ink look thinned out or whatever either...stinks a hell of alot more but whatever.

Also tried making a mop out of one once...melted the damn thing practically. >_>

dot3 wont eat through markers you fool it comes in a plastic bottle thats thinner that eats at your markers(it doesnt make whole or anything just makes it really soft and squeeze good if you wanna make your zigs hella drippy)

mineral spirits makes my markers/mops get fucked up
like its got air trapped in it and its overinflated
    or under inflated

I'm guessing its because flammable liquids have a very low boiling point and are constantly giving off lots of vapors increasing the pressure inside your marker or mop.

Mine just straight up melts it, lol.
