upstate: you'd have to be a complete retard to buy a D-Lux 4. It's the same exact camera as the lx3, the only difference is the red dot on the front, that costs you $300 more. It has full manual control and exposure compensation is as easy as the g10, It's got a joystick on the back that is for exposure compensation in program mode, and in manual mode it's for your shutter/aperture. But seriously, I'll punch you in the head if you buy a d-lux 4.
Hahaha the only reason I would is to be able to say I have a leica lol. I knw they are basically the same lol. I'm gonna save for my d300s first I think
got one of these from a thrift store today pretty sure its broken though which is kind of a shame [Broken External Image]:http://www.kataan.org/gallery/d/18699-2/xa2.jpg
hahaha, fuck me... I kept refering to the Nikon D90 as a 5D... Canon mAkes the 5D. I use both a lot and still mix em up All the time. http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Digital-SLR/25446/D90.html
Yeah the D90 is a great camera. I hear the Canons are superior in terms of moving picture, but I wouldn't know I couldn't care less about video. I bought my camera to take pictures.
I've got the regular XA with the rangefinder, it's a pretty awesome camera. What seems to be broken about it? pic related, it's from my XA [Broken External Image]:http://images.rapidhate.org/d/5643-1/delta3200-3_001.jpg
the d90 is awesome. stopped into work today cuz we got like 14 new cameras and i really liked this one. and there was a new canon there as well. i think the sx210? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Panason...04&skuId=9767132&st=panasonic lumix&cp=1&lp=3
going to lose my portrait virginity tomorrow i might look into the d90, i definitely gotta get myself a new camera. the lack of a focus motor on my d60 is starting to irk me (starting to look for lenses) i'd probably end up with the d80 for a fraction of the price though.
How's the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS that comes kit on the 50D? For shooting portraits and architecture, primarily.
Canons rock, but i hate those pseudo-dslr cameras that companies like them and olympus make, with non-interchangeable lenses i do a lot of on-the-run shit, so a more compact camera is a nice option when i dont use my phone or slr. fits snugly in the side pouch of my pack. you lose some MP/zoom on this one by comparison, but its a great model to huck in your bag and the lens retracts into the body when not use, plus the same or better quality lens, check it: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+...8117940507&skuId=9517025&st=DSC-WX1&cp=1&lp=1
It's a kit lens so it is not designed for either of those things specifically, it is long which is good for portraiture but it is not very fast, so you won't be able to get a short depth of field for facial blur etc, and it is not especially wide for architecture (Not that all interiors and exteriors should be shot ultra wide, cos it's not a realistic representation of what the eye sees.) But either way it is a good 'cover the bases' lens, it's wide enough, long enough and fast enough for most things. But if you want specialised work, get specialised lenses. Eg a fast wide for architecture and a fast tele for portraiture. Look at fast 85mm primes for portraits and 10mm or so lenses for architecture. Also, remember that a 28-135mm will become 42-202mm on a cropped sensor. So on a 50D it will not be wide at all. Look at the 18-105mm lenses designed for cropped sensor cameras, I dunno what canon calls them but for nikon it's called DX.
Yeah I'm just speaking in a general sense. A 'cover all bases' lens that will serve the primary purposes I want it to without being too atrocious is all I'm looking for
the one i posted looks better to me, it can go full manual which i like. this isnt really related, well kinda, i was browsing youtube and came across this. i liked the concept behind the video lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuLDB7uqLbg&feature=channel you can always get the 50mm prime for portraits. im thinkin about it or the 35mm
