The only time the 18-55 will suffer is shooting at the longer end in low light.
Other than that it is as sharp as a razor... What exactly is wrong with it?

the only criticism i have of the 18-55 nikon kit lens is that the f3.5 sucks a tad for portraits...i love having a BIGG apature of f1.2 or similiar....

Most people can only dream of f/1.2 on an SLR...

yup, both you guys prettymuch summed it up for me
i love low light+ no flash photography so i really am a sucker for faster lens
even though my sigma isnt any faster, it still helps.
i did buy it solely to replace my kit...otherwise, i would have gone for a wide prime

    from the same lambo+z06 set

your probably not gonna want to shoot portraits (traditionally) with the f/3.5 end of the kit lens, its pretty wide

yer thats another thing...on the 50mm end of it...its only f5...which gives a bit of depth of field...but not much worth using...

Heh, black people are so alien to me I don't know how I'd approach one in the street.

A cool video of one of the KINGS of photography RIP Garry Winogrand.
It's in german but this guy has a camera truly as an extention of his arm/eye. His body language is amazing. I literally study this video daily.
He handles the camera with such ease its amazing really.

He took a lot of photos. He managed to burn an film imprint into the pressure plate.
    WOW.

As evidence of his prolific nature, Winogrand left behind nearly 300,000 unedited images, and more than 2,500 undeveloped rolls of film. -wikipedia

"How long did it take you to make that photograph Mr. Winogrand?" "Uhh, I think it was 1/125 of a second" LOL

that's the wrong reason to wear a camera bag, but whatever.
I've been rockin my domke 803 for a couple weeks now, it's built like a tank, and no logos so it's mad stealth.

I don't usually carry the netbook, but it fits perfectly in the back pocket

^^^Definitely was a joke about "pulling bitches" with it. I was hoping it was a little bigger so I could throw my mac in there. But I guess thats why they call it a camera bag.

bitches love photographers though, it's ridiculous. someone on another forum said he was gonna go to starbucks and put his camera on the table and sit there, then count how many girls asked about it
