I swapped the C for a K as I hate round letters.... Can you guys see this better?

Physh: It seems kind of stiff and forced. Almost like you stopped to think where the letter was going. Drop some of the extras till you get your letters flowing they use them as accents to your letters/word vs part of them (like the bits on the C and base of the T.) Yours looks a lot like mine did when I first started. Grab a typography book and look through it. Try using different markes and even brushes to see how they react as you write. I find this also helps with learning flow. I knew if I tried to end on a C it would look horrible so I subbed for the K (you can dock me for it guys).

Yes. Start there. Fill two notebooks up with only handwriting, while experimenting with different letters, fonts, extensions, italics, whatever.

Not to be a ball buster, but lets move the crits to the tags only thread.
Toops: try one like the top one with a bigger R (maybe even backwards) to give a little symmetry
