why would it be dumb to smoke out of clay? it wont melt like plastic, and it probably wont give off toxic fumes like plastic, plus it wont fall apart after 1 use like a plastic peice will

 

a plastic piece won't fall apart after one use....for example my friends has had a homemade lung for near a year now... and waterbottle bong, last however long you want them too... but i'd say just save the money and get a nice glass piece. or metal pipe whatever you want

 

those look like they need to be washed and layed out to dry properly because they still look slimy and moist
