Nice thread. I have a 12 and a 400watt amp (not much i know). Its a Rockford fostgate punch serious, and i also replaced all the stock speakers. My faceplate is a sony.
i started to put a lil something together in my mazda 626 but never got around to doing much but i got a pioneer deck, alpine 6x8's in the front doors and and pioneer 6x9's in the back and it sounds decent but i want more voice and a lil bass in there, i want to subs but i dont want my shyt rattling.. thinking bout getting these polk 6x9's i saw at circuit city that sounded good and adding them on top of the back but idk if that should do it
the alpines are SPA-507 230watt 75 rms the pioneers are TS-A6962R 250 watt 40 rms i know, but basicall id ve mounting them and having a 6 speakers system and the polks seem louder then both
i say you get the subs an get some insulation for your trunk. its like a foil styrofoam(sp) type thing you put on the opening areas of your trunk
is that the only place it goes? i was just looking at some subs but i dont really know much about them, how should i go about buying them? my car is all hooked up because i bout a pair a while ago for 100 but threw them away because one popped and idk if the amp was strong enough but the cables are there
40 rms? thats kinda weak. no offence. but id upgrade the pioneers and if... IF you can buy a lil 4 way amp for the speakers.
polk audio is Great. if you have enough cash for the speakers + the amp to power the speakers i say go for it
oh yea. i have 2 cerwin vega v-max for sale (MAYBE if the price is right, i might keep em) * pre 2008 models. (600 rms each/1200RMS MAX*2ohms) for sale. this was the last year they made them 600 rms.... and they KNOCK HARD. if you want em name a price
thanks kay i couldnt remember the name. dew they have that for all around your car. you can put it in your front an back speakers around them an it makes em louder somehow. check cartoys or any audio spot. i duno if big stores like best buy have em
i just bought a car that came with a set of pioneer 300w (6x9) are they any good ?i dont know 2 much about audio sound
dynamat is that particular brand's name. you can shop online and find other brands that cost less. if you choose to go with dynamat be prepared to spend some cash (5 sheets or so, i forget) cost $114 at best buys. + even more cash to install it. (install it your self though. if you can peel a sticker and use a roller you can do it) be sure to wear thick gloves when installing, i got some pretty good cuts from the aluminum. it doesn't really make it louder, it just dampens the rattle. but its worth it.
