let alone not being able to stop, with the lack of breaks and all. Try telling a fixie kid they aint hardcore.... breaks are for faggots

what dictates fix heads being hardcore? their 5000 dollar bikes, their tight pants, their trust funds?

fixies are just some lame ass hipster trend and soon enough when oz and nz get flooded with fixies from walmart and hipsters, you'll be bashing them as hard as i have.

5000$? dunno what your talking about, you can build a bike easily for 200$. tight pants? your just generalizing. keep on hating, whatever, get a life

oh, and what dictates them being hardcore is the amount of deaths resulting from them, the speed at which they get ridden the lack of breaks, the physical strength needed to stop them whilst coasting... list goes on really. call it stupidity if you want, but the adrenaline of riding them is unmatched, let alone the fun of building them

Every kid I know who rides bmx, none of their bikes have breaks. Not trying to flame, but just wondering why you would take on these bikes over a decent bmx or mountain.

cos they are faster (really fast) and smoother on the road, and the pure fact that you can build them, paint them, customize them to however u want for pretty cheap makes them attractive for me

this argument is totally retarded but i just think fixies are dumb and don't like them very much at all. proper fixed builds do make for super pretty bikes.

yeah, I've only ridden one once, but it was really intense.

I think it'd definitely be cool to get into.

If someone would post some basic info on common brands, prices, and statistics about the bikes, I'd greatly appreciate it. :D

    Thanks.

you can get some mad speeds on those, i work next to a bike cafe in town and always see guys with their customized fixed gears.. personal favourite is the matt black with red pinstriping, so sick..

i've heard if you ride those bikes long term you get really bad spine problems.
but as a hobbie, sure why not
