lol, punchlines cant come immediately. some punchlines takes days to think of if their real ill... like if i came up with somethin off the top of the head kinda like... so so imma keep my mojo and flows cold like my throats froze in a choke hold// or like... like me, flows nasty like a blowed nose im off chillin wit 4 hoes, n they have no clothes// those were both off the top of the head, and not that raw. it just really depends, it takes practice. start off wit easy punchlines.. somethin like.. none of you nothing but haters but battle me, ill shred you like paper// its really just an improving type of thing. just gotta keep practicing, and you need a sence of humor... lol
Rapping is like a gift. I've been freestyling since like 6th grade. I don't do it much anymore now, just from time to time when I feel like it and have a decent instrumental to flow to, or if someone is throwin' down a beat on the desk or something. I always try to freestyle to slower songs but it's hard as hell. When I get all crunk and shit on a dope beat it's easy to kill it. It's just really easy to start out in a group taking turns whenever someone stops. That's how I started out. I started rollin' solo a while back. It's easier that way to get better. There's always a state of mind you gotta be in to be real dope, people who can freestyle on the spot are cool I guess, but I tried to just do it and I kinda lost inspiration for new stuff. Basically the ghetto way to get better is just start chillin' with some other people who like to freestyle. Make sure you at least like their style. I've known some wannabes who think they're hard and try to amaze people who know nothing about freestyling. You know you're better when you can say it was "alright". You know you can do better, don't "try" to do better. Just do it. Freestyling is the best way to get better. I don't go by any book. I don't try to purposely impress anyone, I just do what I do and people love it. I still remember when I had been getting known in Junior High and there would be people I don't even know surrounding me when I was flowin'. When the teachers would break up the huge crowd I remember hearing "that boy can freestyle" from the girls and other stuff from the guys. Just don't try to be anyone.
I like the advice here, ive been writing rhymes for a while now, look back on my early ones and there wack as fuck. But now I believe ive reached a pretty good level using mutilies (think thats how its spelt), punchlines and the occasional pun. So ive recently starting recording my shit, im using a singstar mic (suprisingly better than my previous mic) but i dont care cause im gully. Anyways if theres any other guys on the forum that fancy themselfs as mc illd be more then eager to get together on a song and just send the verse via e mail n so forth. hit me up if your interested peace

They any good? I saw this mic yesterday, its was golden. It was about 60 aussie dollars (not that the price matter, was gonna rack it) but I still didnt know if it would be any good, plus I dont have a mic stand or any of that shit

i recently got into recording a couple months ago, a buddy and i pulled some money together and bought like this protools bundle deal from guitar center. I dont know if anybody knows about reverbs or compression but send me a pm if you do. but yeah anyway the quality is great, ill post a pic of our set up in a minute.
protools aye. I use audacity cause its free, it somewhat fufilled my needs but today as i was trying to record some shit it became a bitch. I normally just open the instrumental I wanna use, press record listen to the instrumental in my head phones and then start spitting when its the right time, do the whole thing in one and start over again if i do anything wrong. But today the fucking instrumental didnt start playing when I pressed record. Couldnt figure out what happened. I tried to manually sync it but audacitys a bitch and I have very little patience
