Do you remember graffiti before the internet? There was no time or place to gab and only room to paint. The internet has found new ways of prolonging toys by allowing them to believe that for every post they talk shit it equals 1 tag and for ever wack cell phone flick posted repeatedly counts as 50 points. Before they would go unnoticed and give up but now they can survive off a handful of weak flicks and start fights for years and never go anywhere. Would your street credibility hold up if you didn't have a place online to post pictures and hype your teenaged beef? What would you do if it wasn't so readily available anymore? Some people need a reason to complete there thug persona; narcotics, gangs, hood- but in this case painting is merely the excuse and ironically just the smallest element. If this and all forums were to close down tomorrow would you be satisfied with just painting by itself, barring the electronic thug life? The answer is a sad reality that leaves the future of South florida graffiti- discontinued.
