It's true. Car paint. Marine paint. 'One shot' sign paint. Lacquer paint is the shit and there is nothing that is as weatherproof. You can get/make sick colors and the lacquer thinner does not eat up plastic or the nibs. I always use lacquer based enamels to make mop paint. Try 'One Shot' or dupont.

    ya nailpolish is laquer too
take a bunch of nail hardener things
mix 1/2 that & laquer thinner
    thin one shot with mix

i gave up trying to buff this on a painted metal surface W/ mek
spent like 10 minuets the tags still visibe

works better than 1/2 paint 1/2 poly

well it doenst really defeat the purpose, cuz u cant flow the paint that stains into a marker.

    wait so.....
just because the paint is alcohol based means it can flow thu a marker?

no. if u add ink to paint, its still paint, so it wont flow well thru a marker.
but pigmented ink ill def flow thru a marker. so they each have thier purpose

yea its nice. it'll last forever as far as weather goes, but it'll come off if u buff it, but its medium hard if u mop it on thick

hell yea. Or try thinnign white acrylic with stainers. Then you get really vibrant colors. Especially with gentian violet.

    Try this mix out

    White acrylic
    thin 1/4 way with alcohol
thin rest of the way with any stainer.
    then add some benzophenone.

the mix of benzo with the white paint really helps against fading, cuz titanium dioxide(the pigment in white paint) deflects UV rays, and benzo does the same thing.

The alcohol helps the stainer stain, because water has such high attraction forces(what makes it bead up). The alcohol breaks the surface tension, so it can seep into surfaces better
