Being one of the dopest graff artist’s from the old school train era that is still active….Can you tell us a cool story of a night out bombing , you’d like to share?
Thanks for kind words. One story is when my partner FOME 1 and I ventured out to Esplanade layups in the Bronx. Winter 82. We met up with  PAZE, SIZER, MIDG and ENCE. We executed 5 top to bottom whole cars in a row. It was the NWA (New Wave Artists) crew in full effect. I remember getting there in the afternoon and leaving really late at night. When we walked out of the tunnel onto the street it was an untouched white covering of snow. The amount of fumes we left behind was incredible. I never actually saw those cars run but pics of them ended up in Subway Art.

In your opinion, what is your favorite type of background to paint?
I like all types of backgrounds really.

What is the best Krylon can/color?

I don’t use Krylon anymore; it’s very watered down now. Back in the day I really liked Krylons. Icy Grape, Plum Purple, Sunset Orange, Popsicle Orange, Pineapple Yellow, Aqua Turquoise, Hot Raspberry Pink. So many burner colors. Whenever I do smell those vintage cans I am instantly transported.
So I have learrned  that you are a big comic book fan? When did you get into that? And any favorites from any decade?
I’ve been digging comic books forever. It’s funny, my son always asks me about certain characters I can never remember. I never really read comics I just used them for reference and I loved the art. I remember artists more than anything else. Jack Kirby, Alex Nino, Frank Frazetta, Simon Bisley, I pretty much like all of the eras, I guess the 70’s-80’s were my first exposure but I love em all. The IMAGE comics that Todd McFarlane does are great too. Heavy Metal, Creepy, Famous Monsters. Great stuff. Obviously, Vaughn Bode had a huge impact. Cheech Wizard and Deadbone were amazing works.
What is the best ink and the worst on the market, if any?

Funny question. Not Krink, thats for sure. LOL

You have a brand new book out, what is it called, where can we buy we but it and what is it about?

Yes, I wrote “DON 1, THE KING FROM QUEENS” It’s available in Barnes and Nobles and other shops but the easiest way to get it is through Amazon.com.

I just signed on with the same publisher to do another book which will be out sometime next year.
“KOLORSTORM” The Art Of Louie KR.ONE Gasparro

KR, is also a musician, what music is being played, while you are piecing?

Yes, I’ve been a musician since 82. My current playlist ranges from YES, to Miles Davis, Hendrix, Joe Bonnamassa, Sade. I really like film soundtracks as well.

What is the best piecing pen for blackbooks?

I like so many. Flairs are great, LePens, Pilot razor point, Copic makes some serious pens.

What crews do you piece with? Or do you prefer solo?

I’m affiliated with so many NYC crews but it’s not all the time that whole crews get together. So I paint with assorted crews but all under the umbrella of original NYC Crews. RTW, TSS, BTB, TNT, BYB, MAFIA. Alot of ‘em.

Any upcoming events on the calendar you would like to let us know about?

I’m currently in the completion stages for my book so I’m doing that, As far as shows and galleries, etc. I have some in the works. My band is performing in June. I have a fun classic rock cover band called “Servants of the Crown-Keepers of the Sign”.

I could that I have many things on the horizon. I post everything on Instagram. Follow me and stay filled in. With a fat cap of course! LOL
