You guys really seemed to like our alphabet post last time so we’re coming back at ya with some more writers take on the 26 letters we know so well. We hit up some big names in the scene right now and asked them to talk a bit about their style. Here it is:
MEAS7
My Name’s Themeaseven, and I have been writing for 12 years. I love wildstyle letters since 6 years ago and have since become wildstyler graffiti writer. I love wildstyle letters because it’s a unique combination of forms and I can express the letter how I want. A characteristic of my graffiti is a set of lines that collide with each other, and have random proportion but when seen looks entirely and perfectly balanced between sides. Sometimes it’s an interpretation of life that on above or below, wildstyle maybe a complicated letter but when we see overall in other views, it can be a beautiful graffiti style. Well, that’s why I love wildstyle.

JAMEY JASPER
I’ve been writing since the early/mid 90’s and loved the wildstyles and productions and whatnot, but what always really grabbed my attention was the bombing/throwie style, I just loved the way bubble letters looked and so in the last few years I stopped doing angular letters and really just focused on developing my own style of throwie letters…I’ve tried to keep them legible with a good flow to them so that they can stand on their own, which I’ve always thought was important in a piece…My thought has always been that you should be able to single out any letter in a piece and it should look good even by itself. I get lost in shading letters to try and give them depth or roundness, I call my coloring Bubble Gum Pop! hahaha It reminds me of the bubblicious packages, lots of hot pinks and yellows… Thank Ya… JASPYR SOUL STYLE KREW

My name is drain I am from Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico I belong to the VRS crew. I am very interested in the structure of the letter. The current writer is based very much on the effects and of more, I like the cleaning the fine cuts and that my name looks good although only using 2 tones. I am very influenced by European graffiti and I am characterized by the good use of color

I would describe my style as an aggressive style of lettering, letters that like to fight. Wildstyle, mechanical, insect, organic inspired.
