DION – I’m from Whittier, California
WHEN I START WRITING; I’d say I started writing in 09, late bloomer right haha. I was in high school. It was my art class I sat next to who to become one of my best friends to this day KBER UKC. UKC I was a Whittier based crew. I used to see them up all the time as a kid and growing up in my city had a lot of pride where I was from and wanted to be in that crew. I wasn’t bombing yet and we ending up splitting ways and reconnecting at the end of high school. By this time I moved to Pomona, California, and that’s where we ran into each other again. He put me up on the game with yards and taught me everything I know from this day. Style, technique, speed, how to be aggressive, how to attack spots. I owe everything that I am today to him. KBER UKC.
WRITERS I LOOKED UP TO; I looked up to my own crew they were the first ones i’d see around my town. When I would go skateboarding with friends and before I was driving. They had our city.on lock. Just a sick ass crew with so many heads with so much dam style. WARE, KBER, MOCK, FATAL, VOICE,PHIEN, REMO, ERACE, REPUS, RIP AKUSE. In my opinion, I thought no one in our age gap wasn’t fucking with ukc. They were getting it. Shit, we still are hahaha others I looked up to growing up was FART & BARF those guys were EVERYWHERE scribers, stickers, trains, landmark street spots. Major influence. UTI growing up seeing their mural walls I use to just stand there minutes at end starring at their walls and trip out it was possible to do that with a spray can. I was a big huge fan of SKA the time I started actually painting as well and dreamed to get in one day. BIG OG PRYER local legend. ROTEN SKA local legend I wanted to be that next Whittier SKA member. Grateful I made it to be apart of that crew today SKA. Means the world to me.
