I write Dvate, I’m born and raised in Melburn, Australia. I travel all over the world but it’s still my favorite place. I started doing crappy tags in the local area around 1993 but didn’t do my first piece till 1996. I began to take it seriously around 1998. Not sure how I would describe my style? Maybe a mix of traditional graff (Melb/NYC) with the addition of modern techniques and ideas? I always try to push myself to improve my style, I’m never satisfied with anything I do which I think makes me want to keep getting better. I also try to experiment with new styles that I can then combine with my past bags of tricks. There are so many dope writers around that it’s impossible to drop any names in particular that have influenced me. With social media etc there is always someone new to check out that I haven’t seen before. Basically I have the most respect for writers that paint for a long time, keep pushing themselves to improve and don’t forget where they came from.
