Garbage Beauty is a collective who draws calligraphy on waste and abandoned objects on the street, with messages that can catch the attention of indifferent passersby.
The operate mainly in Montreal, but as soon as the opportunity arises elsewhere, they have also spread their work internationally. Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto, New York, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin have already seen their waste receiving these poetic inscriptions.
Without wanting to moralize or provoke, the GB tends to be positive with word play and punch lines that revive abandoned furniture on the street. Spontaneous and opportunistic approach where each sentence is chosen depending on the media. You can thus see a chair on which is written "Stand up," a stool with the cardinal points, and two chairs facing one wearing "Montréal " and the other "Montreal" without an accent on the "e".
