This could make to be a good help[ thread

When painting for your first few times take things slowly don't rush anything Take a step back and examine it and plan out your next steps find a good chill spot so you can do so
When your painting dont bend over to reach low spots bend your knees lines and things will flow better if theres a flow to your movements
    Paint with stock caps first
It's always important to know how to use the shitty caps and shitty krylons in the beggining so that when you move on to good cans you're pretty much a pro with them becuase you've used such low quality shit.
WHen practicing tags and shit try and use a pen it's small but it's good for pointing out little details you might be missing when using a fat marker it'll look shakey but it always looks better when using a fatter marker, but it's important to know how to use thin shit and fat shit.
Also try and everytime you do a throwie or a tag or a piece take a picture and upload it on your computer point out what you think you couldve done better sometimes you can be your own best critic and point out shit you might've skipped over when you were looking at it in person.

Fuck I should've posted this in the new to graffiti thread or some shit :/ whatever

just a suggestion: this should be stickied, doesn't have to be but it'd be a more detailed help discussion on certain problems for people.

I don't think it will be stickied, it's very general.

I'm having trouble with that sort of stuff too, I'm painting sketches I like and making them look terrible.
I think a really important thing is to know how each color and brand handles. Paint brands are very different in terms of runniness, thickness and opacity, and it's really easy to ruin something if you think the paint will be thick but it's thin.

with the shines are you talking like a sharp edge/point glare, or a shiny metal look?

Yes shiny metal looks AND point glare, I'd like to learn how to do them both so my sketchbook graffiti can look a little less crappy

you don't need shines for a sketchbook piece to look good.
but then i suppose it all depends on a persons opinion on what good graff can look like

(im talking simple white fill black outline/3d compared to supercrazy 12+ color wildstyle)

I mean i can do my ZEAL sigs and throwies good, it you meant rock with B & W i can add shadow to my thow-ups but its really hard for my pieces to look good, shiny effects are hard and plus my style is really boring id like to be able to pull og good graf but i doubt i could really get into wildstyle yet
