palestine and israel are perfect examples of what religon does to people. Religon is only a mindless cult of hatred that has only inspired hatred and pain

Religion is not only a mindless cult that has ONLY inspired hatred and pain, there IS good in religion. Some religions, more than others. It is when people take religion too seriously, or quotes of the holy papers out of context, and enforce things radically, that things get fucked up.

Both sides have done immoral things, neither side is perfect. Of course we're going to support isriel thanks to our alliance, which is thanks to the world trade organization, which is exactly what the Muslim radicals "terrorists" are against.

It will be quite interesting to see how things unfold. I'm not extremely educated on political matters, but theyre extremely interesting, and I try to learn as much as possible, so this thread is fuckin SICK.

there is such thing as "taking religion to seriously". the minute you subscribe to an organized religion you have taken it far too seriously. there is no gray area and there is no middle ground. even the most liberal leaning sects of religion believe there is some mythical father figure floating around in space to be worshipped and obeyed; to me, religion in any way shape or form is total extremism.

I don't think religion is a bad thing, but when people rely on it and it becomes a crutch, or when people rake everything too seriously or take it out of context. I've been religious since birth, and its not affected me negatively in anyway. It jsut depends on your approach

if you subscribe to an organized religion, especially an abrahamic one (islam, christianity, judaism), you turn your entire life over to a group constructed solely to oppress the masses and keep entire communities in slavery. i strongly believe that religion is the single biggest chain holding humanity back from what it's really capable of. the mere fact that you would incorporate religion into your life shows an incredible weakness, not only weakness, but ignorance. face up to the world and take responsibility for yourself and your possibilities, and stop relying on some mythical figure who may or may not even exist to make your life easier.

Sounds like an atheist NWO Nazi. It's abstraction that is the problem, it's human nature to hate others due to differences, the very crux of our destruction is differences; Whether it be race, religion, political party, etc. A never ending hate. People take the core of religious theories and take it to an abstract level then hate is manifested into a cosmopolitan plague. Atheists, Muslims, Christians, Jews....we're all guilty of mass murdering throughout history. Religion is a theory, abstract religion is this so called cult you speak of. If you propose to create a society based solely on the religious beliefs of atheism then you are no better than the Zionists. Government is never faith or religious based as it may seem, Israel and USA are two strong examples of a fundamental secularist infrastructure.

EDIT: this goes for the dumbass above me, damn nazis. Oh ya the possibility our life was created without a god just following the precision of gravity and cosmological constant force is 1:100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
That's why I believe in god and creationism, it's much more logical.

once zombies take over nonE of this will matter anyways...quit arguing about political theory and start a fucking march to do something.

right now this country(the united states...because I know there are writers from other countries on here) has the ability to provide 100's of thousands of jobs and give the entire north american continent power (as in electrical...and power as a country) but the goverment wont do it. Why wont they do it is the question you should be asking yourselves if you dont know the answer.
Democracys dont last slowly the goverment is taking more and more power away from the people. and most of the power we believe we still have now is an illusion. before everyone is a zombie...WAKE THE FUCK UP!

on a diffrent note...thrice do you write thrice? and were you in miami a little while ago?

On the whole "religion vs. non-religion" situation; look at what religion establishes. It creates a hierarchy of power, giving the ultimate power to "the all-mighty". It really is beautiful, without religion there would have been no order, no common bonds, none of the great empires, advances and breakthroughs we have had today. Bitch and moan all you want about "there isn't a God" "fuck religious based power units", etc etc. When it boils down, religion was the bonding agent of EVERY single early culture, where it had been monotheistic or polytheistic. The religious wars have all been out of greed, revenge and envy, ironically nearly every religion goes against these reasons.

Religion has got to be the number one killer of man in the history of the world.

Kind of ironic that the majority of the population doesn't know shit about the one that they support.

Religion provides humanity a set of morals to live by. Most international law parallels with morals found in the Qur'an, Old Testament/Tanakh, and the New Testament/Bible. The crusades, conflict in Israel, the Spanish Inquisition, St. Bartholomew's Day massacre, and countless other atrocities are arguably the the product of people misinterpreting or deciphering what ever scripture they follow for their own benefit. Be it slaying as many "infidels" as possible, persuading alter boys to have sex, pressuring people to donate to a church, or even a country (America) justifying a war because they have the moral high ground.

Basically, people have been perverting and twisting religion for their own benefit since stonehenge, and the pyramids. I'm not religious at all, and I don't need a religion to tell me how to act. I think most of it is silly, some of it I take issue with, and I don't want people cramming their beliefs down my throat, but I think its important to acknowledge that most religions encourage kindness and empathy to some degree.

The number one killer of people is people.
