word to this....i remember when i used to go out, i got laughed at by people...i had my pentax mx, 2 rolls of shitty jessops 36exp film...a little table top tripod and a few lenses...then they all shut up after seeing the photos that came out the camera...it shows, having all the kit, the fanciest camera dosent help anything, its nice and all, but learn to take a photo properley before you waste 10000's of pounds/dollars on kit....

i would love to do some rooftopping in the states or elsewhere....just have the better, higher buildings....

do exactly what ak said....you bumlick to the max, make yourself stand out etc...its quite harsh as so many people want to do it....and expect to work shit hours, and not get paid anything...but again...it can pay off big time :)

And on another note, i finally finished my so called 'portfolio website'....its basic and simple as fuck, but it gets the job done, let me know what you all think :)

The layout isn't bad, simplicity is where its at for portfolio websites. I'm not too huge on the logo, I think you could do something with a different font or something to make it really stand out from everything else. Simpleviewer isn't a bad for a gallery but there are similar galleries that are html and will load faster. Also I'm not sure why the image on the front page is flash but get rid of the flash takes too long to load. Other than that, link your logo to your main page, or add home in the navigation.

Both sites look really good. I just don't really like the embossed black buttons so much, but the layout is nice and smooth.

And just because it was made freely, doesn't mean it looks bad; in my opinion, it's nice to look at.

Question: How do you remove a stuck circular polarizer?

yer the logo isnt really a logo to be fair, was just something quick and easy like the whole site :D Yer people keep mentioning the font, but 'times new roman' and 'arial' are just to plain and shit....somepoeple like the font...others hate it :D Its flash as its a simple, 5 image slideshow....does rotate ever 3-4 seconds or something....yer the logo to the home page was me being a twat and not putting it in :D

err, quite a few are construction sites, so theres not really any doors etc over the stair wells, usually just cctv and some on site security dudes, prob the same as over in the US....rooftops of hotels etc are piss easy, walk in talking on your phone, its proven that no one will bother you...get in the elevator go up as high as you can, look for the roof access door, hope you get lucky and its not locked etc, or just look for a diff way to access the roof...easy to do in hotels as usually its a fire exit as a door, sometimes they are alarmed though :)

haha shes a 'mate' of my cousin i hardly ever see, i did the photos for my cousins head band crazy things, was a quick and easy thing as a friend/family favour....but yep she is, i still dont have a clue who she is, but she had a bf at the time haha!!

your photos on the site are nice mate, like the landscapey one of the waterfall :)

I don't dislike the font, but I think if you changed up the site part of it, it would pop more. I didn't realize it was a slideshow, first time I checked it out nothing loaded, and second time it was just one flick but now its working. One more thing, make sure you title your main page

    how does this sound?

    How's it going man?

I’ve admired your work for a while now, I pretty much just entered the world of photography about 6 months ago and I still have so much to learn

I’ve been slowly transitioning into doing portraits and band promos, and your band promos have always stood out to me, I’m not quite sure what you use, but your lighting always looks awesome!

Anyways, I was going to see if maybe I can come along to a few of your shoots to help out and get an insight in the world of professional photography

I think I can really learn a lot from you and it would be a great step for me in the profession I’m trying to pursue

Sounds sweet for a band photographer, but for anyone else definitely sound a lot more professional than that.

    good luck said.

but that website (shoot2kill) is way to distracting for me. im sorry, i closed the window after dicking around with the tilt viewer for 10 seconds. takes attention away from the photos a lot in my opinion

    this

depends how formal you want it to sound, saying things such as

    "How's it going man?"
    "lighting always looks awesome!"
    and
    "Anyways"

sounds more like your writing to a mate, for someone you don't know personally, I'd recommend writing formally.

Part from those few things, the rest sounds pretty good
