what are you shooting with evil? if you can, go snag a polarizer, it'll make your skies pop, that second one would look great with a little more contrast in the sky, i'm likin the tracks creating the glowing lines tho, maybe center it up, or get lower to the ground, try different angles, the first one is kinda boring
thanks. im using a fuji filmfine pix s700.. pretty shit but it gets the job done some days i suppose.. and ya im just taking pics that look cool the first one is of the city from like 5miles away thought it was dece but ill keep tryin. and that track shot was just a point n shoot quick time for how the sky is lookin thanks for the crits
Background shot for one of my webpages for a project. Just trying to creating a vintage style look, inserting the Web links on each card. Nothin special, but getting used to the SLR camera.
I'm starting to shoot alot more film, just need money to develop. Couple of questions though.. what would take priority when shooting something in which DOF doesn't matter, shutter speed or aperture? I hope that question makes sense. Like do I put the shutter speed to a certain speed and match the aperture or the other way round? and would finding out shutter speed/aperture on my DSLR first of a shot be the same sort of numbers on the film camera? I know it has different variables such as ISO etc but just to help me grasp an idea of what numbers I should be shooting at since I cant trial and error on film. I'm shooting it on auto shutter speed at the moment and would like to move onto manual. Really want to deck my camera out all black but I know I'll fuck it up lol hope someone can be bothered to read all that shit
film is really fun man, but learn on digital, it heps you learn cause you can just snap away til you figure out how to make the shot look good in just a try or two, no reason to waste money on film til you understand aperture and shutter speed aperture- lower the number, larger the opening, smaller the DOF, faster you can take pictures shutter speed- no tripod try to stay above about 1/30 of a sec it's fuckin early, someone else expand upon this for him
lol I'm not a n000b. I've been shooting for a few years, you probably didn't understand my question, I know all about apertures and shutter speeds. I'm thinking, just say for street photography/or needing my camera quickly without thinking much for numbers, I should leave aperture about 8/9 then adjust shutter speed accordingly, or whether to leave it at say 1/250th then adjust aperture? Does anyone understand that question.
set the shutter speed and adjust the aperture, if you're doing street photography then things are gonna be moving, keep a fast enough shutter so you can get clear pics of folk, and change the aperture to keep your exposure correct hope this was more helpful
