In the past two weeks i've been trying to get in shape to have more strength and endurance especially for climbing/hittin those heaven spots. Im gonna guess that we aren't all Schwarzeneggers in here and weren't blessed with great genetics. Basically what im wondering is what are your guys workout schedules (if you do anything)? what are trying to accomplish? whats your nutrition look like, and if you guys have any basic exercises that are the most effective for building strength/helping stand in front of a wall all day without getting exhausted. I'm aware that this isnt a body building forum, but i feel it relates to graff, lets out run those pigs!

funny you ask, I've always applied my fitness to other endeavors in life, including graff. It shouldn't take that much outta you stand in front of a wall and do a production though. If it does, then just get out more and maybe lay off some of the toxins ur putting in urself. I workout a bunch, mainly a muscle group or two a day with weights and cardio a few times on top of that. I eat clean as im doing this for the feeling but eating clean really benefits you in the aesthetic department (if you wanna be all cut up). If your just going for function (which is what actually benefits YOU) then experiment with different exercises. For graff, even before I was about nutrition I found body weight exercises to be the most beneficial, besides i did em anyway and anywhere as there was no gym membership ... Pull Ups, Chin Ups , Pushups, Dips and all variations of those are great. It's good raw strength and translates to pulling yourself up on ledges, climbing, etc. you get the point. If you do some prolonged cardio whether its running, skatin, biking, whatever, that will get your blood flow proper and definitely benefit you so that doing a full production isnt as physically demanding. As far as outrunning pigs, unless your really slow, that shouldn't be a problem, upper body strength is key in that as scaling fences quick is a good way to shake em. Especially if you could do a few in a row which then gives you time to find a cut to lay low in or change your direction. Overall the 3 things you wanna work on to hit those spots your average joe ain't getting are

    1) Raw Strength
    2) Balance
    3) Stamina

    +1 to all of that.

I'd especially work on the cardio and get the endurance up, too.
You'd be surprised how much better you feel if you've got a decent cardio workout going for you.

word... its all about running man... and using those hand clinch things com-grip-black.jpg lol i used to do those when i was a child and it just got easier and easier, kinda helps with the awkward position of holding a nozzle down for prolonged periods of time... and for climbing a good rule of thumb and common sense is make sure u work out 2x on upper body than u do on ur legs... if all u do is run and u never do pullups, pushups or curls with something heavy, then ur never gonna be able to pull urself up onto rooftops or something like that... i havent really worked out since i was in jail and that was like a full time training session lol if i wasnt workin out, eating, showering, or playin basketball i was passed out or reading a book about to pass out.... so in all reality maybe the best way to get fit is get arrested lol think about it kids...

True that balance man is hella needed. Upper body strength for climbing and shit and cardio. Ride a bike and do push ups. When I go exploring for spots I usually end up hopping fences and shit which is good practice

I have the convenience of a great park about a block away with miles of trails and calistetics pit stops along the way. In the morning around 4:30 i'm out there or sometimes a lil after sunrise depending on how the night before went. sometimes I get my cardio in the comfort of my bedroom hehe. nah but usually on a daily I try to work in 3 sets of lunges, push ups, cruches, wide pull ups. of course the weekends normally I take off from working out though because that my time to fuck off and do some other shit instead or sleep in or somethin', weights are good but I dont have a membership at a gym or own any besides my neighbor who works out with me a few days a week owns a bench press and some good heavy dumb bells so occasionally every week I just drop by and get some reps. I actually recently just picked back up on this cause I was out of town a while but the main reason I've put on 10 pounds already is cause these protein shakes help alot even just 2 scoops a day dose alot.

Great advice guys, I'm about 6ft 160 and trying to get up to 180.
I've been basically shooting for a workout like donnalingus but I'm to cheap to get a gym membership,
I got a pull up bar and an adjustable dumbell, and have been riding my bike on rest/recovery days. I guess I should be bulking while lifting so bring on the wendys double stacks. Maybe drop the cardio? But I'm afraid of looking puffed out and losing any cuts. Fuck getting into shape is tough

@zookyork, yeah man I checkd out p90x and insanity, they are mad loot, I don't have virus protection right now so I haven't downloaded it. Idk if its meant more for wieght loss or muscle building. I bet you you got the beat advice from people in jail cuz that's all they really do to pass to time. I have had friends who were mad skinny, got locked up and came outt big as hell. I'm trying to read up on jail house workouts to avoid the gym, and what I read so far is that shit is more intense that just curling some dumbells

yea in our block we would wrap socks around the steps goin up to the top bunks so we didnt tear our hands up on the steel... and wed do pushups with our feet on our bunks and sometimes another guy pushing down on ur shoulders with his feet... no weights but we had access to a cleaning closet with broomsticks and giant jugs of floor cleaner so wed put the stick through the handles of the bucket and curl like that... i did more situps than anything though... i went in around 140 and came out around 140 but i was cut as fuck, but u eat like a pig when u get out lol i was up to 150 a week after cuz of all the bomb ass food i gorged myself with.... but yea p90x for free is baller shit, its for muscle building mainly, if u eat hearty foods and workout ull see a difference fast, but also if ur a fat shit and u diet and stick to it ull lose the fat real fast too... while ur at it get some rosetta stone and learn another language haha im all about torrenting the expensive shit

I wouldn't drop the cardio. The cardio is the root of your workout. Supplement the cardio with weights or your pull-up bar, dumb bells, etc, etc... not the other way around. Sounds like you're on the right track. Shit ain't easy that's for damn sure.
