just a quicky tryna sort this Y out then the a left the a really basic just hacin trouble gettin the tail of my Y to fit in Rough sketch by rydergraffiti, on Flickr
Friz - Go simpler, I have no idea what that says MN Nice - Like the piece its clean, not really feeling the extra shit on the B, can see you wanted it so be symmetrical but doesnt really work imo Zoop - Not too bad maybe take a step back and go a little simpler for now Kaser - Both those looking pretty good, just watch how your letters overlap, looks kinda funny in second one cuz its black with white outline, nice tho. Ryda - Looks nice, maybe try and not add so much extra bars and arrows and try and try and make the letters fit together more, it kinda looks like 4 completely different letters from 4 different pieces thrown into one, try and make all the letters have a similar style. First piece ive finished in weeks, trying to get a bit more motivated to draw, crits would be nice. [Broken External Image]:http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/1230/image0045ri.jpg
it's whack, but to go with the general flow of your other letters, you should maybe just try a simple style y like that? also, try keeping consistency in your bars. your R has nice thick bars, whereas your D is really thin in comparison. There is a lot of dead space at the top between your D and A also. But, this is the Toy section, and this is just the blind leading the blind in a way. Hopefully my sketch can help you out somewhat though my dude. EDIT: @ EARS - It's a nice simp. Not feeling the straight top right of the E, though it kinda fits. The S looks too round imo. Try giving it a solid horizontal top bar, kinda shape it a little like a 5 I guess? that'd help consistency i think.
@NEwker cheers dude thats kinda how i had my y before but some said it looked whack so just played around with it the d i was using the thin line at the bottom as the thin line bringing the leg out of the backbone of the r tryed to keep the top swoop of the d thicker but again jus gonna keep at it and keep goin
@willis england, bedfordshire. y u ask? few more sketches tryna keep the bars n flow the same Black book by rydergraffiti, on Flickr made the bar on the a bit smaller Untitled by rydergraffiti, on Flickr
Now just work that D and A closer. Make some of the bars real fat like the leg on your R or the bottom of your Y, it'd be easier to take up dead space and fit them together that way. Kinda iffy about that Y though
Sketchin, tryin to paint this today at some point. I hate the fucking letter E. Oh and the little notch on the top right leg of the K
cheers blackmath its just not workin for me at the min lol Blackbook by rydergraffiti, on Flickr another quick one i know my r looks like a B here but was just a quickie chunked up the d and tha a a bit
Ryda- D+A looks much better. could put a character next to the "A" with that much extra space, fix the "R" and you'll be set.
Muuuuch better, only thing I can say now is what EWL said, either the R bigger or the A a little smaller
