Fuck stealing fills just go nuts with 3-4 colors that look the same and get a contrasting color for the outline or force
I guess don't steal fills. But those are suggestions for inspiration. I don't even know if it's possible to steal fillls cuz some of them are just so complex and crazy.
Zoup I reckon the biggest this you got going for you is originality, not knowing good fill ideas will help you find your own style and I'm starting to get down you what you got going. Keep it up dude. Can I get some crits on this?
If your first thought when peeps are talkin' inspiration is just "biting," you should probably try to reevaluate the way you look at progressing. Getting' inspired =/= biting and without inspiration there's nothing but stagnation. No progression. Not trying to bust your balls, just giving general advice I guess.
Couple pages back he said he wants writers to bite a fill from. That's why I said fuck stealing a fill
true dat, i did say that. I didn;t mean to say steal an entire fill. just get like a few hicky doodaas inside the letters, like that shit on graffiti creator on mindgem, you know just to get an idea for a dope fill, figure out where the light hits inside the letter, those little extra details. @sanguine i did say bite before, my bad. I figured any type of inspiration is called biting too, i dont wanna steal an entire fill, just an idea of what to do. I see hands fill, i see your fill, then i see my dark circle zigzags, fuck that ugly shit. sorry mate, i hate my fills lol.
Looks like you understand the bars pretty well. The thing I noticed was your 3D is way off. If your letters are all the same size then your 3D will also be the same size. Your M and R are outta whack.
Just give it some practice man look at others art and mix some colors and add some funky lines, make some cracks, add some bubbles, make one half of your letters one color, the other half another. Draw several lines thru your piece in any direction and color them one way, then color the rest of your letters another. Or hell. Just color them all black and white lol
I see what you're saying. I'll make sure to mind that when I 3d. Thank you for taking the time to help.
The K has way more going on than the other three letters due to that one leg. You need to balance the piece better. I feel like a more simple leg coming out at the same angle as the ends of the S woulda looked better imo. Def more balanced at least. If you throw some interest into your letter structure then make sure you do it consistently.
