What do you mean straight letters don't need practice? The fact that you can not do one shows it takes practice.Think about what your saying. And change the attitude because you will not make any friends with it. One thing i hate about graffiti culture is the damn egos. Btw the name "kaps" i think a guy from the film "style wars" also used it, i may be wrong.

Maje friends In a forum? I would care less. you especially go take a hike, you can't even control a pencil. as far as the other fat cunts in this forum, won't ever meet em, why should I treat them like a friend or even an acquaintance?
What straight letters do you want? Those where straighter than most of the fags here, do you want me to grab markers and make a nice colour scheme and outline for your soft eyes to make them out? Deepshit degenerates, what would someone expect from American "graffiti" artists

Lol he got mad cause they called his shit wack.
Of course you'll most likely run into other men who are writers
The Graff scene in America is what started graffiti

And what's so bad about befriending other males that write?
He made it seem as if having male friends is gay or something

Well i gave better knowledge in this than you do thats for sure. I would like to post a pic but my phone got lost maybe ill use my sisters one. You attitude is shit and your work is shit. I was trying to be nice with you. Just leave this fourm and don't post on the pics cause your not good enough. Your letters are looking to skinny and are not even. I may not have the best pensile control but at least i don't have a whacky design. lol You will never get better because you will never let people speak there mind about your work. And how dare you get all nasty with me. I was trying to help you. Just leave cause your not wanted here. Go to a fourm were they lie to you. Because you the biggest TOY i have ever ran into. You know why? Its because of your TOY attitude, and i am not someone to use the word toy but i got to say... YOU ARE A TOY

My fucking god, I leave for one day and shit hits the fan and I miss it all. Ah, well.
Good on you, Kaps. I'm seeing some improvement in your line control.

Now, as for you, Suic...I guess I'll throw in my two American cents.
The reason everyone is biting back at you is because you tried to step up to people who clearly have more experience than you on the matter. Whether or not you think their art is good means little in comparison to the fact that they probably know more what graff should look like. Your straights do need practice, because even pros have to practice them from time to time. I get the feeling that you're so caught up in this "make it big" shit that you're forgetting how to get there. You've got your eyes on the top of this mountain and it probably feels so close to you, but you're still climbing it. If you can start getting your letters looking good with monospace and with consistent thickness, then you can start thinking in terms of thick and then. It's just the natural process and foundation of any artist. I believe I've made the comparison here before that artists learn with cubes and spheres before moving on to complex forms. The same is true of every art form: there are fundamentals that can always be built upon, and the stronger they are, the stronger the complex works are.

I will say that I can at least sympathize with your thoughts that the criticism around here is lackluster and there is evident favoritism abound. However, I respect that I am new in a community that is already established. I have not proven myself, and so I will simply make my niche by keeping my head down and working until I feel that I've improved enough to present. I can get frustrated sometimes because the crits can be very broad and nonspecific, and I like specificity in responses to what I should be adjusting. Maybe you're like that as well. In either case, what I'm telling you is that your criticism of this community as lacking in constant, consistently in-depth, and specific criticism for newcomers is valid. But here's the million dollar question: So what?

the thing is. No one will give you your style through crits. They are only good to know whats shit and what to avoid. But nobody will go beyond simple block letter advices and will show you how to do this or that. You have to figure it out on your own.

Which does make sense, as style is a thing that develops naturally as opposed to a condiment that you just add to something. Style is you in your work and nothing else. That's why starting simple makes the most sense. I'm not saying the advice is bad. I'm simply pointing out that for people who like specific feedback, it gets frustrating, as we saw with our poor toy friend here.

Might work a little better if you had some parallels with the way the letters are leaning. Right now it kinda looks like somebody gave a second grader some letter stickers and they just slapped them together carelessly.
