dryft, less lumps on the sides of your letters. use straighter, or more evenly curved lines. and work on your coloring. go for even and uniform colors or shading. even pressure.

All you newcomers with no structure right click and save this, a perfect example of a textbook blockbuster (simple).

Test- that T on the right breaks the whole flow of the piece because of the shape you have made the bar coming across it, try to make it similar to the other T.

You may be mentioned more than once. Use ctrl+f.

nem, use two pieces of paper, one for sketching, one for the final outline. (sketch, darken the lines you want, lay your final version paper over it, redraw using the sketch as a guide (try not to trace so much as you may have more trouble moving your pen at a constant speed/pressure if you're concentrating too much on tracing exactly.)

Sex, it seems like you're overlooked because you've pretty much got a style on lock. My advice is to try and push that bitch for all it's worth, really make the letters scream. Try doing a few more traditional pieces along with your [sick] throws.

haz-e, flow your letters a bit more (that doesn't mean to crunch them over each other and lean 'em in one direction, it means to semi-fit them together like puzzle pieces.)

maze, go as fucking simple as possible for a little while, do only sketches, one after the other (you can get about 3-4 sketches for the time you'd spend lining and coloring a full piece.) Really get your bars down.

Borg, that sketch burns everthing I've seen from you so far. If I were you, I'd color it a little differently than you usually do, I think it begs for a little more realism and grungieness than you usually put into a character.

Fail, I like your style, but try two pieces: one with the best letters you can come up with and no extensions, and one where the letters really stand out from the extensions.

silent, not really a crit, just an idea: do something like that pink one, fill all the neg-space with the right extensions, but color them with a really different color (in the case of that pink one I would have gone with electric blue for example)

Kase, the ruggie's look kinda good, but work on picturing things in 3-d and learn some anatomy. The fact that they're all facing you straight on takes something away from it.

Musashi, work on simpler letters with bars.

swavey, just keep working at that, try getting the letters closer together.

Atlock, get rid of the cliche' tech-looking lines in your letters. It's too damn confusing.

Azteka, I'm gonna say go simpler. That sketch looks wonky to me.

Seek, get rid of the extensions, try getting that shit cleaner, even out the letter spacing, and make it a bit simpler. Once you've got that done, add more flow. See the previous comment of flow somewhere above.

Ate, Gummi-worm fill is sexy, try more advanced stuff (letters, not extensions.)

Jedi master, go simpler with those tags. Some look a bit like scribbles, some look like you just tried to lean letters to one side.

Sank, take a week's break from sketching, and do a lot of visualization of letters. Get inspired or whatever, smoke some weed if it helps. The force is strong with this one.

Fonone, go simpler. Once again, flow comment above. It seems like you know about bars, just not how to use 'em.

Leski, keep practicing that shit. The third is best except for the I. You're on your way though.

merkfx, Go simpler, even out the height, width, and spacing of your letters and bars. Also, spend more time on a sketch. Chances are you're not some prodigy that's gonna spit out amazing shit in six minutes; You gotta spend effort if you want to get anywhere.

00made00, A lot of the people that were in here regularly in 06-mid 07 are gone or in the bigboy thread. Yeah, shit's gone to hell. Yeah, lots of kiddies suck and are gonna give up. But saying "go simple" is better than "lolcutyourhandsoffnochance" even if the latter is true because:
A. Latter is true, they're problably gonna give it up in a month or two.
B. This is the internet. People tend not to want help, they wanna be narcissists and will start beef over an entirely valid crit, fill up a page or two with it, and the people who are dedicated and want crits and deserve them get knocked back four pages where most people aren't gonna look "go simple" tends to just shut people the fuck up and [hopefully] inspire them to try harder.

Blackbookcook- new to graff thread.

Tricks- good to see someone else who'll provide a wall of crits and expect nothing back. I miss the old days. I remember my first post here, I can't remember who it was, but someone tore me to shit in a matter of seconds. It was great.

The end, ehh... looks like generic beginner stuff, new to graff thread, but you are kinda on the right track.

Roolete, cut the fuck down on extensions and work on letters more. You've got tons of potential, but it's wasted as of now.

tricks, I'm gonna say to try something entirely different once or twice. Just to see something different. If you switch up your styles a few times, when you go back, you'll notice tons of improvement. That new style just ain't doin it. [By different styles I mean original and GOOD, not just original.]

Borg and Underground animal, niiice clean shit. I like to see this.

Mesn, I like the throw, Try doing it as clean as possible once or twice. I'd like to see how that looks.

That's how you crit goddamnit. I didn't realize how bad the blackbooks forum got until I just went through and saw ten pages of chat, LOLZICANDOGRAFFITIS and an amount of crits akin to the amount of safe sex in africa. Frankly I think it's time to crack down on this thread and bring back the time when you'd actually get a crit, you'd try to improve, because if you didn't and you tried to post the same crap again you'd get raped and ridiculed. It was harsh, but people improved. You know why the good kids are in the bigboy thread now? Because toy blackbooks was for crits and improvement, not an ego boost. If that's what you're looking for go show some fat chick in school your stuff.
