firstly, assuming that a 250 year old document is entirely as relevant today as it was then is insane..thats why we have amendments. im not suggesting that healthcare is entirely footed by the government, but doesnt it strike you as strange that the united states is the ONLY industrialized country in the world without universal healthcare? the costs of healthcare are rising way way faster than income, and thousands and thousands of people every year lose everything because of medical bills, its the single biggest cause of bankruptsy now. pharmaceutical companies dont help by holding virtual monopolies over certain patents that let them inflate prices hundreds of times what they're actually worth. 15 percent of america has no health insurance period, and thats a consistent number derived from continuous studies, not some random census' every ten years. and the notion that the government helping subsidize healthcare is a slippery slope toward socialism is a pretty lazy argument. the us ranks something like 40 in quality of healthcare worldwide, which is real low considering were the most powerful country on earth. if you gave people without insurance a choice between basic medical attention and a "maybe" and "what if" scenario about socialism, i guarantee you they'd all take what they need to survive.
that would never happen, try and amke a realistic point as to why healthcare wouldnt be a good thing, it works up north
i dont worry about old men and women with stapled sheets of paper behind mahogany podiums on the telivision, because im going to die one day and it wont matter then
yes it would, the uk has national health care and shit like that happens all the time, physical education (gym) is the only mandatory class they band smoking in th work place schools have to serve healthy options mcdonalds ads arnt alloweed during kids tv lots more shit aswell pluss free health cares all well and good untill u take into acount the amount of people who use hospitals daily, our health service is under massive strain due to lack of funding...and englands smaller thansome us states, think what it would be like for you guys
Anyone else a fan of communism? Yeah, i know it will never work, and never has. You need a "leader" that isn't a greedy asshole and when there are too many people involved, someone is jerking off and fucks it up. Anyone want to conquer a bottom left section of Canada and claim it our own? I'm not kidding.
so ur saying that the constitution is outdated?...its only 250 years old....so becaues the constitution is outdated, should we take away womens suffarage and black freedom from slavery? it is outdated...... no we shouldnt...the constitution was purposely written vaugley to insure we had room to work with it....i highly disagree its outdated...politcicians and political parties on the other hand....haha it doesnt strike me as strange when i have a grandmother that lives in italy with so called universal healthcare....the government told the ppl " u pay ur taxes and we will foot all the bills for ur healthcare" bull....my grandmother...(a retired nurse) told me she still has to pay a copay on her governments healthcare bill....and the government dosent cover everything so she still had to buy private insurance!!! so now instead of paying for just health insurance and maybe a small copay here and there , she pays ass loads of taxes for complete "universal" healthcare , copays on the govs bill, and then her private health insurance, and then copays on that.government healthcare doesnt work. also my great aunt who lives with my grandmother has alzheimers, and a bunch of other degenerative diseases. she is about 88 years old....my grandmother took her to the doctor...(2 different times the first she left because they told her we cant see u today we are too busy...) when she finally got to see the doctor he told her yeah she has these things that u thouhgt she had, alzheimers and the rest....but lemme call hte gov and see if they will pay the medication bills....................*ring*ring*.............nope they wont...sry she is gonna die painfully , and then he said to my grand mother "well she is 88 years old anyway she wasnt gonna live much longer anyway" AT LEAST OVER HERE IF U HAVE THE MONEY U WILL GET TREATED AND THE GOVERNMENT CANT TELL ANYONE ELSE WHO LIVES OR DIES universal healthcare is like shit with a bow tied around it . it looks pretty caues of the bow but its still shit.....universal healthcare is why canada is losin doctors offices at alarming rates...universal healthcare is why in england they are making ppl wait in the ambulance before they are seen....universal healthcare is why doctors and the government decide who lives and dies.... TOKE: they also said the titanic would never sink, the world trade centers would never fall if hit, neworleans would never flood, the colonists will never rebel.... ur insane if u think it will never happen....im pretty sure u dont have a crystal ball.... dont get me started on the QUALITY of universal healthcare.... sry i got heated but it is wildly important this issue....it could change the face of the world ....i said world... drug companies = fail, i will agree to that ,but instead of burning the us system of helathcare to the ground how about making it better... how about seeing to it that americans in poverty are taught to get jobs where they can get healthinsurance?!? is that a crazy idea?
Apparently the English classes they have over there aren't working too well... That is if you're from the UK...
Compared to the so called "democracy" we have in most "democratic" countries, I think communism works really well. Look at Cuba, because no one is giving money their entire concentration like we do in our capitalistic country, they are concentrating on improving the school system, the healthcare, the people. Cuba has the highest literacy rate in the world, and the most efficient health care, the source comes from UN website. I think communism is a great alternative to what we say is democracy, but obviously it's not perfect. Some communist leaders are waaaay to self centered, like Kim Jong II, but I'd much rather have a communist government, than a Canadian Democratic government who keeps people of interest in terrorism cases in prison for 8 years without a charge, or who's police harass working class people, or where the rich are excused from their moral duties as citizens, so yes, I am a fan of communism
