that's because you're not unzipping them, you're simply just opening the rar file and playing the songs from it. and i tunes sucks, i've been using a mac for 9 years now and i hate itunes, i use VLC on the mac, so anyways, to fix your problem, if you're on windows, right click the rar file and click "extract to here" and once that's done, now you can find your songs to wherever you extracted them and play them whenever.
