I need to about double the drying time for a varathaine stain based ink, its a great red-maroon colour, stains well, covers well, and for the most part works great. Its just that it dries ever so slowly. I made a small batch and tested it a few hours ago to see how it turned out, great btw but no pictures at the moment, and the fucker is still damp(almost three hours later).

Its pretty thick as it is. It goes on nice, makes its runs then sorta solidifies on the surface. This all happens in a great time span, but it takes forever for it to dry through and through.

The problem that I see is if someone goes to buff it while its like this its gonna smear out really bad and fuck up my ghost, leaving a illegible mess. I need to find something to speed it up as winter is coming soon, that sucks, and it doesn't like to dry nicely as is.

I'm thinking maybe japan dryer, but I have no experience with it.
    Any suggestions?

Varathaine Stain is similar to Polyurethane dye, so its a close polymer dye (type of setting plastic) You can relate it to Pvc primer. so its cool.

Ether. You want to use ether, this will not fuck up your base and congeal it. so its all good. But still. you want it to add slow. Slower also equils greater stainage. I would keep some of your mix without it for later on, and make some seperate with the ether in.

Just read - Three hours? Thats a great dry time? well. depending on your spot i guess. Pleh.

Anti freeze. Lol i could explain. but you should pinch yourself for letting the thought cross your mind.. nah man.

Pure methenol. Brain damage in liquid form. so yeah... Even drinking a little would make you both drunk and blind. (not that your going to)

You can mix the two. But, Ethenols best (Denatured) More alcohol than Naphta though, Naphtha drys faster..
Add some stainers in. Strengthen the butimen with Something like Nigrosine (Solvent black 7) Its Very soluble in any form of hydrocarbon oils. so will mix great with the naptha.

    enjoy.

Ill try that biz, thanks man.

I know the dry time is good, but its going to be hell using this stuff when the temperature drops.
    Edit:
and in any high traffic area... what ever, I'll get something together.
    Thanks again.

Biz, about that pvc primer thing. If I were to add it to my inks (pen ink) for a nice purple stain, how much do I add for it to stain nicely, but not exactly eat my mop away?

assuming that it is black and my color is magenta and turquoise?

I have 200ml of grog ink, 125ml of Isopropyl Alcohol, 500ml DOT3 Break Fluid, Turpes, metho, nail polish remover at hand...

I'm thinking of adding some DOT3 break fluid into my 200ml of Grog ink but I have no clue how much ML I should add, can someone tell me a good amount cause I dont wanna fuck it up.

oh and what's the best "Pottassium Permanganate" to acquire? like the puriest form... not the watered down or crap state and I can get it from chemists right, where else/ what should I be looking for/staying away from?

well carbon is black, so yes it will prob change teh tint if you have colored inks.
and for grog man, its probably fien as it is, but if your convinced that brake fluid will help you more, then just add liek 3 drops per marker.

buy a tube of acrylics and add not more than 30% water....
Even though acrylics can diluted with water they become
water resistant when they are dry

could you water down acrylic paint and put it into a whiteout pen, or would only ink work because the paint would still be to thick to flow?
