I like that ^ I really like how you use the wall/environment as an aesthetic enhansor for your work. Like the girl holding the flower, and there is vines all around her. thanks CHUB and bountyhunter @ CHUB - yeh that's what I was talking about when I said that placement is so important. It can really add to the overall impact of your poster. I see a lot of really amazing posters in real life and online that could have been made so much better if the artist had considered the overall composition of the wall and the surrounding environment. You really have to look at the whole space as part of the artwork, and see how your poster best fits into that location. IMO
I stress that too, because of how many times I've fucked up the asthetic of a poster by placing it in a spot it doesn't fit. Size matters. Not just the size of the poster, but the size of an area will make a large poster look insignificant if it's a huge wall.. It's an easy thing to misjudge. I can't wait to show my next poster! It's my best work yet. Fucking waay out there, and it's currently taking up the entire wall of my dining room.... I'm not gonna sleep for a day or 2 to get this done by when I want it up. It's a monster. (not literally).
oooh shiiittt! cant wait i got 3 posters ready(almost ready) for ups, ill see if i can get flix before they do. id rather wait until the ARE up, but i wanted a few crits to get them right before thing about wheatpaste is its so simple to interact with your enviroment with a little creativity. thats what seperates it from other aspects of street art. its something iv always wanted to expiriment with, because it adds so much more interest and thought to your project. there are millions of possible ideas out there, and even more places to go with them...not to mention how unique your work could be, with just a little enviromental interaction
Oh yeah, I finally invested in a projector. they sold em at my hobby lobby for pretty cheap, i just didnt notice em till the other day. the screen on mine is pretty small, so i have to make the images small if I wanna blow em up. I might invest in a better one later on.

LOL, when I was doing a big poster, me and my friend just snuck into my school one night and turned on the projecter in the computer classroom, probably not a good idea but it worked great. yeah, add suger when your mixing it though. and woodglue works to, but add that right before your about to paste. and dude, that paint buddy idea is AWSOME
oops, i added sugar like a day after i made it, oh well. Yah the paint buddy works great, except it to much paste comes out so i was thinking of just closing the valve halfway through and using the roller with whats there SOMEONE HELP ME WITH ANGEL POSTER!!! I DONT KOW WHAT TO DO!!!
oh, and next time someone does a poster at a chill spot, would do me a massive favor and take pictures (not just of the poster) from farther back and whats around the spot (houses trees streets) I wanna get a feel of where you guys pick because so far ive only done public bridges and one behind a store
eeek! I double posted again, sorry When i make wallpaper paste (from powder mixxed with water) I make it thicker than it should, its not sticky between my fingers, it is opaque and all foamy, it is grey-white and has the consistency of foamy, runny, home made pudding Is this right?
For the wall paper paste, it should be fine, but id wait for the foam to settle( its probably a shitload of air bubbles in the paste) if you dont, then that will make your poster be all wierd when you put it up. how are you mixing it? Id suggest to get a wisk and stir it in. put some up and see how well it does. expirement with different ratios until you get a golden recipe. thats what i do . and for the angel poster, just work more on the theme. If you wanted it to be suffering, then work more on a gloomy facial expression and make the chains black, make it clear that it is struggling, not celebrating . and for spots, I usually just do places that stand out, but not like normal graffing. transmission boxes(those big silver boxes usually at the corner of intersections) alleys, retainer walls, dumpsters, ill try and get some pics up.
I don't usually hit high-traffic spots. They get buffed real quick. I mostly stick to alleys and hit dumpsters, back doors, construction walls & hoardings, unused or abandoned buildings, electrical boxes, newspaper boxes, payphones, fenceposts, etc etc. I'd rather have my posters ride a while than have em up for two days in a really high-visibility location. I'll get a few pics next time I'm out.
agreed. I forgot that those get buffed fast, but mine usually chill for like a week before getting buffed, the normal time for most of my posters. But I usually just hit smooth surfaces like above. I try and do lots of chill shit, instead of 4 heated spots, mainly because the cops put shit together fast around here, so id rather enjoy it then always being asked questions by the popo
