i didnt know if this is just for markers or wat... but i need some help on how to make a canvas on a low budget???
go make yourself a wood frame, and get some canvas roll. then staple that shit on the frame or, ideally, you could just buy/ rack a canvas or, you could use something other than canvas. cardboard, vinyl, etc?
Instead of a rubber band, I'd take that shit to the hardware store, and grab a handful of plumbing gaskets or o-rings that fit around the seam of the felt.
nah, you shouldnt have to if its predone canvas roll. if youre making your own, then sure, but otherwise, no lol
priming a canvass sounds like a bitch with all the gusso and eggs what not, but is boat canvas the same as art canvass ?
EASY... Get wood and cut lol, naw just get a large wood block(amount of rows thngy)or veneer(apply wood glue to veneer and make it like 10 things thick of thick veneer) Some regular like 2x4 any size u want make sure is thick enough saw cut wood into the main thing than shape veneer into circles and make ur inner column/rows stick veneer do same thing for bottom square parts >>if u cant find veneer soak wood into water or get the large wood block (PS I AM NOT GOOD EXPLAINZOR)
How to prime a canvas: Set up your canvas as best you can to reach all sides of it. Stir up your primer so that it's even and ready to go. Apply sizing or special glue to tighten canvas and seal the nap of the cloth if necessary. Apply the primer after the sizing is dry. Using a stiff brush, stoke parallel to the length of the canvas. Cover completely but spread as evenly and thinly as possible. Allow first coat to dry to touch. Apply a second coat in the same direction. Allow second coat to dry completely. Sand lightly and remove dust. Apply a final coat. Do not sand the final coat. Allow final coat to dry completely before painting. Da Vinci Acrylic Gesso Canvas Primer [Broken External Image]:http://artistsupplysource.com/images/T/DAV5020-small-02.jpg ^that's the best primer i've ever used and artist canvas is differnt than marine canvas....marine canvas is made of polyester and artist canvas is made of either cotton or linen
go find sticks and make a quare outa it =] nah. if you have right tools yuo could make just bout nethin. even that can holder rack thing. its mainly common sense. but really alls you gotta do is get a looong strip of wood depending on ur dimensions. get a hacksaw or w/e and mitre cut it. when done with the cutting. find a very sharp ninty degree angle somewhere...like the corner of your wall u kno? attach the two mitre cuts togather and find the strongest staple gun u have. use the wall as a guide so your square doesnt end up lookin like a rhombus. repeat process on all four sides. its ur choice. u could glue the parts togather. or do both of them. and dont be afraid if glue isnt strong enough. wood glue is jackichan jizz and it takes muscle to break =] when done making the wooden frame gets canvas fabric. i really dont use special fabric. just get something heavy duty and cut the measurements two inches larger then the sides of ur frame. staple on side down as straight as you can. then it is IMPORTANT "to me atleasT" so stretch is out so your hand doesnt sink in while ur painting it. staple the opposite side and then finish the last two remaining. when done just primer that shit. or if you dont wanna u dont gotta. i dont lol. im in a good mood so i felt talkative hah
dunno if anybody really wants ta do a whole "how-to" on this, but can somebody explain shines? styles, placement, steps, caps ta use? thnx. :*
