I agree the battle has not started off as you probably wanted it, but honestly I think the words you picked were so long and "complex/didn't flow" in alot of peoples opinion that it scared people off. Especially for people who are new at this (including myself) you never want to post up something that looks like utter crap. If you would have picked short simple words OR maybe given the same word to everyone and then sectioned it off to start brackets, I think it would have worked better. This is just my opinion though. This is the first battle I've ever joined so I really am not talking from experience, I'm just trying to help out. I think you should have the battle finish itself off and then try again with different guide lines. Again I'm not trying to bust your balls cause you obviously took the time to put this together and we all appreciate that, I just think if it's tweaked alittle bit you could get the results you were looking for! Nahh dude just look at the skill most of these people have, it wouldn't of made any difference what word Proper picked.
If a writer honestly had style the word shouldn't be much of a factor: i.e. Knomes. Battle obviously canceled. I'm going to set-up an invitational (possibly street) handstyle battle.
