How much alcohol do you recommend for a batch of 108 pens to turn out not to thick but not to thin ? You know, so it still flows through nibs (2 way glue pens and stuff), but also chalk board erasers etc. Im thinking a little over 3/4 cup.

yup, better to have to little than too much, if its too thick, add more alc. if its too thin, more pens

I have no idea if this belongs here, but I have a question.
I was scrolling through some pages of the flicks of your inventory thread (like page 100-110 or something), and there was a few mentions of homemade streaks. I cant get streaks anywhere around here so how do you make them?

I know alot of you say you cant make them but, anyone know ?

yea you def dont want 70%, because thats too much water, and your ink will probably bead up.
and yea just use soemthign to lift the candle up so the flame is liek right through the hole. And make sure you cut that hole at the bottom for air for teh flame.
thats how i make my bitumen ink

if you really like have absolutely no other option than 70%, you can use fractional distillation to seperate the water and alcohol.
google it, but basically you boil the alcohol at its boiling temperature, i think its like 88ยบ for isopropanol or soemthing, until it stops boiling, and make sure you have a tube hooked up to whatever your boiling it in, cuz you gotta collect the alcohol your boiling. the rest in the end should be water.
but you gotta make sure you keep it at the right temperature, and have it set up right or else you might just boil it all off then just have water after

    Section 3: Hazards Identification
Hazards Identification- WARNING! HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. AFFECTS THE LIVER AND KIDNEYS. CAUSES IRRITATION TO SKIN, EYES AND RESPIRATORY TRACT.

Potential Health Effects- Information concerning the hazards of this product was limited. Hazard information was taken from other copper salts. It is believed, however, that insoluble copper salts are less hazardous than soluble copper salts.

Inhalation-Causes irritation to respiratory tract, symptoms may include coughing, sore throat, and shortness of breath. May result in ulceration and perforation of respiratory tract. When heated, this compound may give off copper fume, which can cause symptoms similar to the common cold, including chills and stuffiness of the head.

Ingestion- May cause burning pain in the mouth, esophagus, and stomach. Hemorrhagic gastritis, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, metallic taste, and diarrhea may occur. If vomiting does not occur immediately systemic copper poisoning may occur. Symptoms may include capillary damage, headache, cold sweat, weak pulse, kidney and liver damage, central nervous excitation followed by depression, jaundice, convulsions, blood effects, paralysis and coma. Death may occur from shock or renal failure.

Skin Contact- May cause irritation with redness and pain. Contact with extensively burned skin may cause poisoning.

Eye Contact- May cause irritation, redness, pain, blurred vision, and discoloration. May produce corneal opacity, inflammation, and conjunctivitis.

Chronic Exposure- Prolonged or repeated skin exposure may cause dermatitis. Prolonged or repeated exposure to dusts of copper salts may cause discoloration of the skin or hair, blood and liver damage, ulceration and perforation of the nasal septum, runny nose, metallic taste, and atrophic changes and irritation of the mucous membranes

Aggravation of Pre-existing Conditions- Persons with pre-existing skin disorders, impaired liver, kidney, or pulmonary function, glucose 6-phosphate-dehydrogenase deficiency, or pre-existing Wilson's disease may be more susceptible to the effects of this material.
