To get anywhere near 9lb not to mention 2 you would have to have light penetrating everywhere around the plant so big buds grow everywhere possible. In indoor grows it is usually more work than its worth to get light to penetrate the other colas, people usually just focus on good main cola development on each plant.

@friedchicken soil isnt the only thing you can buy for plants....they need 14 types of nutrients fuckin special bugsprays for aphids nd white flys n shit...they need to be protected from diseases n shit...thats just the start you need so much stuff iff you want a big harvest

 

and aoassis people put foil all around the plant...shiiiit at harvest theres buds as big as yur arm

 

There are different growing techniques so that you expose each cola to the sun, maximizing your yield and making it so every cola is as large as the top cola usually is. It's called low stress training (LST) and you pretty much steak the plant down after it has three or four leaf sets into growth, and you keep on letting it grow and steak it down in the shape of a circle around the pot.

But for him to do that with however many plants he has to maximize his yield would be suck a pain in the ass it'd be extremely difficult.
