well becasue i know that esters are the things that smell good
and i also know that to make an ester u mix a carboxylic acid with an alcohol, and then the ester can be used as a solvent

Salicylic acid crystalises when it drys, it'll stop the absorption of the dyes too. = Bad times.
Also reacts badly with higher ph stainers...... =[

The evapouration rate of Acetic acid is lower than that of water. Sorry,
Hydrocloric contains water and even if you get your hands on the purer stuff its perpous is useless, and you could cut the middle man and use Ethanoic Acid.

If your interested in acidic attatives.. Citric acid powder. =]
Theres stronger, 98% Formic acid powder.

nah you can use salicylic acid, u just get aroudn equal mass of each, then mix it all.
and wiht the acetic acid, acetic acid is ethanoic acid., but whne it reacts it should use up all of it, as long as you use right proportions.

Dont do the first recipie, cuz that one is iffy, but the grap and mint scented ones work well. You can always use fractional distillation if its too wtered down, but get more pure stuff
