    and the hydrochloric acid/ sulfiric acid is used as a catalyst, not for etching, it just speeds up the reaction so your not waiting for days

    Nah dude im talking about later on in ink use, in those forms it'll be decent, It'll fuck up alot when it comes to puting it in a decent ink :)

    And I know about Ethanoic acid, when you buy it, its in a stronger form than if you bought it in its Acetic acid, Therefore cutting out the middle man =]

    And theres still trace amounts of the hydrocholic, which is still wack. =[

    and yea i was wondering how good it would be for a base, so esters dont act liek alcohols?
    either way the smell is way strong, you could proly add like a teaspoon per cup of ink and be set

    ^^ <3

    If you would use it in a ink man, you would still get traces amounts of the hcl.
    And you wouldn't even wanna have half of that much man, Its still like an addon that scrapes away at the staining power, But if you can do it right :) Go for it.

    I am very ill :|

    I hate the japan drier from art stores it's really thick and hard to work with. Anyone tried that cobalt drier stuff at art stores? The kind you get at the hardware store is pretty thin and easy to mix in. I got my japan drier at lowes or home depot (can't remember which) it was near the solvents.

    @Jenkins:
    if you want something (like a recipe) you should be willing to look around for it. You could try making some pen ink and adding some good leather dye.

    Yeah it would, don't use too much of the solvent though, and it's more of an additive

    Burn plastic or baby oil, and take the soot and add random shit too it, you'll figure something prison like out.

    gold rusto and paint thinner.

    you're a waste of air

    for everyone else who actually matters, find the gold leafing section at michaels and snag a jar of liquid gold leaf.
    actual metals (usually a mix of copper and gold, with different shades available) in a xylene base
