ska's just funny. can never be taken that seriously. streetlight manifesto, big d and the kids table, ASOB, some good ones. ska shows were always fun too, but i dont know, it just always felt like a joke to me, which is ok if you're into it i guess.

Ugh, this thread is an abomination! Most of the bands mentioned are only influenced by ska, and some don't go any further than upstrokes and some brass. Most bands from the 3rd wave aren't really ska, unless of course they play first wave or 2 tone styles, ie. The Toasters, Hepcat, The Slackers. Not trashing any of the 3rd wave 'ska' bands, but they are so far removed from original ska that they cannot be appropriately claimed as such. 3rd wave is so easy to get sick of, especially the bubblegum shit.
