Only thing I can say about these apart from them being really nicely lit, is I am wondering why you are using such a wide lens, it really distorts her body, unless that was what you were going for...

    Hmm, I used a 24-105. I didn't get that wide vibe though.

Perhaps I'm wrong! Just the middle two seem a bit funny to me, but thats just me, I shoot from a mile away with at least 100mm's !!!
    Nice stuff anyway.

yeah i see it too channa.

maybe the models head is just huge?
although you are shooting leveled with the head

sick shit AK. i ve shot a couple events where the lighting was similar to your 1st photo..what i dont understand is how the color/light spills out of the object/person like its ghosting(i dont exactly know the term for it)
    its rarely sharp...besides the focus

    what dyou think?
i would think its mostly the lens...

Nope, because there are about a zillion lights of different brightnesses glowing on and off constantly, so the light is constantly changing, and you're camera exposure settings can't keep up trying to get a perfect exposure. For the entire of those photos I used 100th of a second at f/2.8 800ISO. But it was a very dark room.

So you gotta be twiddling with your shutter speed for almost every shot. I usually machine gun shoot, for that particular night, I shot 1,680 photos and ended up with about a hundred submitted to MTV.

hmm.. well its your camera then. thats like a 200-400 iso in my xs. lol i do use 800 max in situations like that but the grain is way too much.

i do also fiddle with the shutter speed and keep it wide open. might play with it stopped down if its a bit brighter cause i know part of the dilemma is the lens sucking wide open.
i think i usally end up at 1/60 or something.

    thanks for the info though.
should really start posting something soon..before the thread looks like shit text again

its only the third shot, and its because shes hunching forwards. If your model is bringing certain parts of her body closer to the camera, shooting wide will distort what ever is closest to the lens.

and cut down on the post-processing, let's see what you can make with just the camera
