shit, go to home depot with a friend (one thats kinda shady looking if possible, unshaven, old clothes). tell your friend to go to the power tools with a shopping cart and start looking at the most expensive tools and have him start putting multiple power tools in his cart, while looking over his shoulder every couple seconds as he moves closer and closer to an exit. while hes doing this, you go to the paint section with another shopping cart and one of those large tupperware things with the closing fold lids and start putting cans in there till its full and then close it. walk around for a bit and let your friend get the attention of the stores security and just walk out the garden area. load up the car and wait for your friend to put everything back from where he got it and meet you at the car. done.

for people in vancouver, dunbar lumber is the best for racking. all the paint is in the back corner where noone goes. dont go often though, i started going almost everyday and they started to catch on so i gave it a week or two.

I'm not quite sure if this has been mentioned, but Joann's Fabrics is great for racking.
It's fucking huge and most of the cameras are fake, additionally, nobody goes there and so it's easy to avoid attention. Go in with a backpack and friend, and just wander over to the paint section, have your friend fill your pack with like, 15 cans, and leave through the entrance. You can also have your friend buy something cheap at the counter and while he is, go out the store saying something like "I'll see you outside."
    BUT DON'T LOOK SHADY.

They use those bubble cameras, and if you go under the bubble, nothing is inside. Also, what I did once was had me and my friend go in both with half full backpacks, and once we got inside, we moved all the stuff into his backpack, so mine would be empty. I've never really had my backpack be a question before though.

just be prepared to have ur backpack left at the front. bring a jacket that you can put stuff in so if they ask you to leave your bag at the front, just put stuff in your jacket but if they dont, utilize that backpack!

your best bet is to stuff cans in a jacket or pants (as many as u can fit without looking like u got cans in ur pants lol) nd simply walk out. have a few stores that u can do this at and just hit up like 5 stores in one day. depending on how much u paint thats easily 2 weeks worth of paint (6 cans each from like 4 or 5 different stores equals a lot of ups) PS winter is better cuz u can wear huge jackets and blend right in

Well, it's Summer now, so I'm going to continue to use my backpack and get 15 cans a time.

I'm pretty sure you won't pass as some janitor that way. Fluorescent vests are more for tagging during the day or out in public so it's not weird you're carrying a ladder or something.

Ok to my knowledge for Canada walmarts you can steal 25 or under dollars of merchindice and have to give it back and be banned on the other hand if they wanna be douche bags and your caught by one of the"secret shoppers" or whatever they can hold you until a cop gets there and arrest your ass. here at my walmart i have gotten to no the undercover security they usually rotate three people through one store and for some advice if you get caught by a secret shopper play it cool i went into my walmart got paint rusto for some ghettto j and other shit mops and all i did was went to self checkout and bought a pac of gum put it all in a bag and left they thought i stole so i said serch my bags and pockets i have nothing to hide they said no its ok have a nice night simple as that

    markers:
get a big cup , like super size drinks , or a huge fountain drink from a gas station , empty the cup , keep the straw in and put a hole in the top just big enough to stuff the markers in , then start stuffing them , and act like ur drinking from the straw every once in a while

    cans :
this isnt really racking but way less sketchy , at home depot they have peel off barcode labels , take the barcodes off of the dollar paint and put them on the painters touch , or rusto , but u have to make sure that you go to the " self scan section " then scanem , and get a hell of a discount on paint , and not have to worry bout getting caught

i have used both of them and never got caught , thought it was time for daddy to pass them down lol

This is genius. Also, if you ever want to get a nice load of free food, I recently found out that in the middle of the night, like around 3:00am, QFC does inventory, and there are only like 2 or 3 workers there. You can just walk into the store and they don't give a shit that you're there, and it's pretty easy pickings from there.

haha to elaborate on the cans, you only have to change like one sticker and scan that one all the time. this gets you past the scale with the bags. it takes a while to change stickers on every can you do. but if your getting different colors you need to change one sticker for each different color your buying.

if your getting like 20 cans your gunna get caught if you have to switch each can for the cheepos. this also works for non self check out but you have to buy the right amount. by the right amount i mean enuff where the cashier can count them by looking, but not to less where they can just scan them on a single basis with no hassle. have your numbers right and tell the cashier like one less then you are buying, he/she will check that and think they did a good job and will not pay close attention to other shit thats going on. i used to just change 3 of them, have a bunch of the same color, like enuff where you just cant put them all and check out, it would take to long, set the 3 switched can colors up there and be like,'' i got 10 of these, 6 of these and 10 of these, i dont want a bag they are just going in my trunk." the cashier will feel your doing them a favor and in most cases just overlook the price per can because you have made there job easier. Plus the door guys that check the recept are just looking at number of items not in bags, they dont look at price.

you have to remember, if they catch you, you have to be like "i didnt change them, its your job to price this shit not mine" and when they say that its too cheap just pull the dumb card and say "well i had no idea spray paint was so expencive and im not paying that." fuck it cause a seen, get mad, the attention will be switched from them thinking you are trying to scam them to "fuck, we need to get this crazy person out of here".

btw, i have only really payed for like 3 6packs of soda in my adult lifetime because i just throw it on the bottom rack of the cart where everyone does. most times they do not walk around and check the bottom. and if they catch you all you say is "shit, thanks for reminding me, dont want the buzzer to go off at the door" we all know that cans of soda dont set off the anti theft buzzer, but the more ignorant you look/sound the more you get away with. let the cashier think your a dumb ass for 3 min. your getting your shit for free, so whos the real dumb ass?

also, the more polite you are the more you look like someone that is above theft. so say sir, mam, ask how there day is gong. be super nice. unless you get caught, then its time to show the mean side and cause a seen. act offended, ask to see a manager, ask to log a complaint. make them want you to leave as fast as possible.

stealing this is more a head game then anything.

definitely true ^, stealing is all about mind games. at my walmart they are hip to the barcode trick aha. had a couple rough situations, had to do exactly like you said, acted ignorant as fuck..i was like this is how the can was when i got it why dont you go take it back; not me, this shit aint my fault..

just try not to make your spots too hot.. they DO notice when a bunch of paint is missing and not paid for when they do inventory...

Well, I've been trying the "put stuff in a shopping cart/bag/etc..." technique, and I must say, it's fucking effective. Seriously. Hiding in plain sight works pretty well in most, I must stress again, MOST, stores. Stores with few employees, that do not have door-checkers are great. Large stores, like Target, also work well. Small stores, or stores that are generally mostly empty, are stores where you're better off stuffing shit into your backpack.

Also, try not to rack paints from hardware stores. ACE has cameras down every aisle, and has caught shoplifters before (at least mine has). They make a big deal about catching thieves, and make sure it's apparent that everyone knows they have. Home Depot checks the doors, entering and exiting. Not only that, but they even check the entrance/exit in the garden section, uggh.
