They're just some really drunken snapshots from last night. Some bike rally in the city with people signing petitions and shit + other randoms.
Shooting with a Nikon D300s and mainly a 35mm 1.8
And for film, the main one is a Nikon FE2 with a 50mm 1.4

 

anyone else catching these aurora borealis tonight?? im gonna TRY with my new P&S S90.

Alright, anybody (AK) have any suggestions as far as the Nikkor 85mm 1.8 versus the Rokinon 85mm 1.4? The price difference is about 150 CHEAPER if I got the non AF Rokinon (They make an AF version too, but AF won't autofocus on my D40 anyway, so I don't care.)

But I dunno', the Rokinon is a half stop faster and $150 less. Would I regret it? All my other lenses are Nikkor....

You really would regret it. At f/2.8 and above they would be relatively similar... but at 1.8 and 1.4, the differences would be huge. I think rockwell compares them on his website. At such large apertures price really comes into play. The Rokinon would be soft as hell at 1.4 whereas the 1.8 would be very usable with the nikon.

This is a good example of why leica glass is so expensive... at f/1.4 or even f/0.95 leica lenses are as sharp as they are at f/5.6.

today i walked into a sneaker store with my canon p over my shoulder, and some guy who was taking promo pictures of the shoes stopped me and talked to me about. "oh shit, i used to have one of those when i was younger, etc etc." then he took my picture with his huge ass dslr. it was pretty cool.
