Okay so, dude on CL is selling a D200, gripped, for $375 (I could probably talk him a bit lower)


Other guy is selling D5000 with 18-55 and 50-200 for 600, but I only want the body, so I was gonna offer him $400.

The D200 is three years old, says it's showing signs of wear but still works fine. The D5000, he says is new and decided he doesn't want to learn photography and wants to sell it to take up guitar instead.

I know nothing of the D200 other than the fact that it's older, but the D5000 I been thinking of buying for a while anyway. If I got the D5000 I'd probably sell my D40, since they're about the same size, but keep it if I got the D200 (Since the D40 would be a little better to carry around on me wherever and the D5000 is about the same size.)
What, do I do?

dude you could go for the d5000 offer him 400 for it get the kit and sell the two extra lenses .so you can get your bottom line down to about 300 bones.just what i'd do...if the dude is getting rid of the camera because he totally sux and wants to learn how to play guitar which he'll suck at even worse...if you are smooth and have an old guitar laying around perhaps a bit of bartering might even help your cause...just what I'd do

 

man if you were in dc you would NOT be missing the metro. its gone to hell in a handbasket for the most part, fare increases, slower trains, elevators/escalators never work, ac on the trains doesnt work, it even seems more crowded than usual. not to mention the metro brawl i posted a few pages back. not a bad place to take flicks though.

you guys bother too much about cameras. it really doesn't matter that much. most cameras and lenses are relatively sharp and produce good results.

Hey, I'm hoping one of the camera heads could chime in on this, someone I know is selling a Canon 300D Digital Rebel (2003 iirc) for $175 Canadian, comes with the kit lens, camera pack, tripod and two 2gb mem cards, I've been looking to get into the DSLR would for a while now and thought this might be a good oppertunity to get a cheap body to play around with, learn the ropes, sell it and grab something else. I've been putting money aside but a lot of things have started to come up so I am not able to drop the 500+ I was looking at on a new camera.

Found him while out fishing. On a 50mm lens. I was disgruntled at our proximity.

 

^^ those are some mean animals, my dad has some stories about running into trouble with them while he was in the forest service out in Montana.

wow Bad,ours are kinda tame but a real live wild one that is tremendous!

we finally had to go to stand alone feeders because it was super scary to feed them in troughs ,you should see what they do to trees rubbing their felt...they just destroy them like it's nothing.

 

Yeah, when we go fishing out there, I have to drive slow as fuck to avoid running into a deer. One jumps out in front of the car everytime we drive down one particular dirt road. I see beavers, deer, elk, some wild buffalo and horses, and there's a couple places where you can find otters. What I REALLY want is to catch an alligator gar. Missouri is one of the only states they still live in.
