Inclusion of characters doesn't make it a piece automatically. I'd say both of your pictures are really bad throws.

I am actually legitimately confused here. Did you not see his letters? He shouldn't worry about highlights or 3D or anything like that for a while.

 

sometimes its hard to read inbetween the lines. i mean its a pretty final thing to say " dont do highlights on a throw."...like just dont..ever...do..it. I got you know.

Highlights on a throw is acceptable if you know what your doing.

forcefield?... nahh man your trippin. I'd rather do highlights before i do a forcefield, unless you say forcefield meaning DOUBLE outline, cause thats mandatory on a throw. But there is a lot of niggs who can't piece so just try to make there throws as fancy as possible.
