    Top few punk bands:

    Black Flag
    The Germs
    Flipper
    Weirdos
    Zero Boys
    Wipers

Those are just some of the ones that I constantly listen to. I hate mainstream music too, man.

Oi! is where its at anyway, brassknuckle boys, cock sparrer, the oppressed, the skinflicks. real punk- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm2VuM0M_lU real oi!-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlhA22MHWOo general rule of thumb, if you heard it on the radio or saw it on tv ever in your life, its not punk

it's beyond me why people argue about what's punk and what isn't punk. the term punk is what ruins everything. It's fucking ridiculous to give a name to something as ambiguous as "punk". Just go to shows, support your local venue, support your favorite bands, you most likely pirate their shit, shoot them a few bucks, it really helps. Don't let this year be The Che Cafes last, do what you can to support your local scene, volunteer for fucks sake. :(

Necs from the book Graffiti Underworld: Villains, Vandals, and Visionaries:

"I originally got into graffiti when I was 13 and 14 years old. There was all this crazy shit like Metalica graffiti and old school Kiss stuff under bridges. My cousin lived near this bridge in the city we ended up going down there and I wrote my name. I dated it 87'. I knew nothing about graff, but hanging out under a bridge with somebody felt like home so why not write your name there. That's how I started out. We were skating a lot at the time. My friend was like "This band Black Flag, you have to see them play!" We ended up at this show and there were crazy people all over. I was just a young clean cut kid that liked to skateboard. We snuck into the show and it was so surreal being in a spot where everyone was twice my size. All these maniacs were killing each other in this crazy pit. I was thinking to myself "How can the world hold so much mayhem." That is a lot of what influenced me with graff at the time, being rebellious. Saying what you want to say and doing what you want to do where you want to do it, without any restraints. That show was one of my first experiences of pure lawlessness. There were a bunch of crazy ass skinheads there taunting Rollin's on stage. The band stopped three or four times. The pool table got overturned and the owner of the club came out and started shooting holes in the ceiling with a shotgun."
