Thanks for the comments my man. I haven't really focused on progressing in a loooong time and just recently I figured there isn't any reason NOT to progress. I've always had decent (at worst) handwriting but after HS I quit dabbling into visual arts. It's taken a bit to get back into the "swing of things" so to speak and I'll be gracing you fellas with some more toy shit in the near future. I've gotten caught up in moving on with life that I left art behind, and I'm realizing that was part of what got me through a lot of tough times. I never said 8 years straight. I started graffiti-style art (at least) 8 years ago (I'm 24 now and started before I had my license @ 16), but it's been off and on and I never really tried to progress much as I had other things going on (College, work, etc...). Such is life though. As far as stress relief, I work on my car when I have the time/money and ride my bike almost every day. Just when I pack up a bowl and want to let my mind wander, this is what I come up with. I suppose I should post on a more "art" related forum but I'm just writing a name and figured there would still be a decent graf community around, as was the case when I was in HS. Turns out it's 90% young bucks who think their toy-ass doodles are hot shit and want to shit on everyone and 10% old school heads who know what it's like to be a toy and like to be ambassadors for the community, if you will. What's the sense in shitting on someone else if not to make yourself feel better about YOU? I'd love to know.
yo i know my shit isnt that good... but anyone down for a friendly battle or exchange pm me cause i want to fuck around with other letters... newk- i;m not saying stop writing (i understand the whole stress relief thing :/) but simple the shit up a bit (i.e lose the arrows and extension) believe me youll be alot more impressed with your own work///
I feel ya dude, I'm usually toked up a bit when I write and tend to take things a little past my abilities. I understand when someone said that i looked "forced". Sometimes I feel like I'm forcing the extensions and details. I'll make sure to post up some straight letters I've done. I guess I figured people would like the more "extravagant" pieces but I guess that was my bad. If you want to swap out some shit PM me. I'm always down to try out new letters and combinations.

Thanks for the words. I'm definitely going to try and put some effort forth now that I have some people pushing me to actually progress. I never really had the drive to when I had other shit to worry about.
@ Peg City Boy... I understand where your coming from because ive wrote for 2 years but i started on a forum and did my research after seeing stuff on the tracks... However ive seen alot of people come along who's been writing 2 years but haven't used the internet but the internets possibly one of the best places to start nowadays i learnt so much about structure and stuff and people who join and don't know about structure are in an illusion that nothing is wrong with their work and that they rock some good shit (MINDGEM FORUM), hell half wont even listen to you... As for crits... Im not too sure... the shape of the S seems awkards... the bottom of it annoys me. I like the M... Make the O a little bit more visual. Clean your lines up etc.

breakout- for not writing for 2 years that shits actually pre decent... 3mpolak- SIMPLE! loose all the arrows all the extensions and all the connections! and for now worry about structure and not fills or characters...
Trying too hard. Simpler. Bring your letters closer together, make them more uniform. Quit trying to throw flares everywhere.

dude newk, you gotta just humble up and take advice for what it is. no ones attacking you, no ones saying theyre hot shit, and no ones being a dick. i came on here, tried to do a piece battle, thought it was nice, and got totally shit on. i was doin the same thing as you. you're trying to do advanced stuff before you can do the basics. lose arrows lose extensions and just about everything. check the new to graffiti thread (even though you're technically not "new"). Bite the keyboard, stick to simps and then you'll start to get a feel for it. just don't get so defensive and take advice for advice. your shit was pretty weak, and people arent gonna hesitate to tell you that on here.
