It took me a few days its part of a huge project I'm working on so hopefully when I brush on the whole graff thing I an add a little lettering to it. But of course I am going to wait a good while till that happens.
yeah for real, definetly do want to ruin a sketch by adding shit that doesnt belong. Thats steazy though, I could go on a rant about all the different detail, all the shading is consistent except on the left knee (from our view)... you color it all black intentionally? and the tail kinda blends in with the blood i tiny bit there
the left knee has skin on it still it's supposed to look like he ripped out of a a person and thats whats left and the right one with the shadow is sort off but it supposed to be his head going over the knee might of over did it.
Thanks man. I have had a bit of an issu coming up with some more ideas as to what to draw. Do you have any suggestions?
aw nah, i have trouble coming up with my own characters, it all depends on state of mind. Usually boredom and drugs create the best characters... just look around, doodles/free styles can start the mind... idk, thats how i usually go about it. just start drawing faces/shapes and deccide what to add on the spot, so then when you have time to sketch something out you have something to work off of....
I'll keep that in mind. Generally for me I start with the least intricate most increadibly vague idea ever and as the drawing progresses I incorporate more and more ideas on the fly. But an initial idea generally helps me start.
yeah, i just keep a pen handy, anything i can just randomly draw out with a ballpoint helps when i get on to some nice paper. After doodling all day at work or in class when moving to nice paper i cant think about the way i drew/ what i drew early on and be more decisive about what im going to draw. Its sober days of just picking up a pencil and paper and trying to just magically draw something dope without any preparation that frustrates me, a simple base or rough draft that goes a long way... ima get up some pics to show what im sayin... hold up just some pastel sketches, couldnt get thre quick rough draft/ outline i did of it to show up in a picture because of the shitty lighting im working with so i might edit this post tomorow with it........... was originally just sketched as a face with a few arms 1 of which holding a rubiks cube... but i decided to just draw a dragon only got cell pics... ill snatch up my girl's digital and try to get a few pics up View attachment 604019
sounds good man. Its pretty clean for a pastel piece. looks like pencil or ink. Oh and I totally feel you as far as the simple base goes. I generally stick to the played out circle for the face lines for the arms legs torso ect...fromula. And manipulate them to my liking
Thats a strange size I think I actually have a sketch book that big somewhere but for the most part I'm an 8 1/2 by 11 kinda guy. the big demon one may be 9 by 12
yeah it was a hammie-down portfolio sketchpad one of my sister gave me, definetly too big to draw letters on, it would take to much time. But yeah I like the standard 8 1/2 x 11 too, dont like using pastels on regular paper or in a BB tho, too unintentionally smeary
I don't use pastels because of the smear. But yeah 8 1/2 is the way to go. Psyke- You're shading needs alot of work man. but the overall facial structure seems reasonably accurate so good job on that. Shading will come with practice and my advice is when using pencil fill in the areas with a circular motion rather than the up and down one you're using and it should turn out nicer. That and go soft with the pencil and shade in coats.
