Dicking around with shading and 3d i know the center highlight is messed up. It did that wen i went to shading. CRITTS
BigBend: Your 3D is improving. Shading is for sure what makes a great 3d piece, which you still need to work on. Color pencil might work better for you as long as you have plenty of colors and blend well. Don't use any weight when applying the color just a lot of passes. Your T needs some work it loses definition on the downward portion (the blue doesn't help it here either). The Blue kinda takes away from the piece to me. There is too much of it and it takes away from the 3d effect. Keep working it's not easy to do 3d well. Ohhhh as you improve on your shading you can play with light sources more. When I do shading and blending with color pencil (I will use green as an example here as that is the color you used) I will use a single color of green for the whole piece, but blend in a dark blue for the shaded spots and blend in some black for really dark spots and yellow for lighter spots. It's very time consuming but works well.
