I know plently of dudes who are deep in the hip hop culture (b-boys, mc's) that arent good at writing they resapect it still, but just cuz your in the culture doesnt mean your gunna be good if your gunna write do it cuz you love it, just know where you stand is all
you know what, you dont get it and your not going to get it. keep doing what your doing if it makes you happy, you came here looking for criticism and you got it, its up to you whether you listen or you dont. everyone here got told the same thing at one stage, a lot ignored it and never really got any better but some took it on board and improved a lot. i understand you want to develop your own style but evryone needs to learn the basics and then start doing there own thing. if you just do whatever without learning the basics itll probably look like shit and you wont realise it. heres an old flick for talking DSC00444 by ASPEK, on Flickr oh yeah, and that shits all dope brains, specially the throws
I gotta quick question, i understand the whole letter structure concept about getting you keyboard letters down then learning off of that, but how do you know when your breaking the rule with structure when goin crazy with ur letters. I guess what im asking is what not todo with ur letters and what to look for?
You have to maintain structure by thinking in terms of proportions. When a letter is flaring outwards, it's as if it's coming towards you, which would make it wider from the point of reference. When you go over the top, the letters come out wonky and disproportional and doesn't have aggressive flow or any flow at all.
ugh i fucked this one up while inking it, not gona finish prolly will get around to doing a new one later
trying to do like a wildstyle throw kinda thing but kinda came out like a simp? View attachment 618426
^^^ yea id just stay simple if i were you dont do nuttin to fancy right now cuz then it just comes out lookin like well i guess that^^^^keep tryin mayne throw down some more throws that are less complicating haha
Sweet Mori! I'm digging it dude. One thing that you could probably do though is make your R as exaggerated as your M if you know what I mean. your M is like BAM and then it kind of loses momentum. Really nice work though awesome character.
Ya I feel that. With the curve of the main bar on the r how out is lbent like (how would I exaggerate a lip for the top of the R? That's why I usually slack and add a block instead of a loop shape. Its a bad habit. But its definitely making my pieces look weak now that I look at my most recent
mori: Take that top chunk of the top of the o and let the R lean back on it. Then you can have the loop move up and to the right as the leg comes down and to the right.
I see and kinda shift the whole of the r down a bit and straighten it out. I think that will let a loop look more natural eh?
mori.......dont listen to anyone on here and do what your doing, that shit looks straight and will only get better
