I think that's because when debating religion it's very two sided. Either there is a god or not. That's it. You have to be very firm in your stance. So you ARE either right or wrong. I don't believe in any grey areas.

Because the human mind cannot fathom perfection, same as how we cannot imagine the sheer gravity of eternity. It's impossible. So how did we come up with the concept, while surrounded by imperfection. If that makes sense at all. I have no real evidence, purely faith. That's definitely not a satisfactory answer for you, but what would you accept as evidence??

Imagine you live in a place where it has never rained before. So the people have never heard of rain, seen it, or imagined it. Because they have never encountered rain.
