Mush, I mean cleaner lines, smoother and that stuff.. shading should be on only one side of the mushroom.. doing lines for shading is okay, I do that too sometimes. if you want to practice shading, draw these over and over again:
Axil, you won't be able to stencil those I think.. You'll cut parts out that are meant to be white. Like the shirt in the jamaica one, that will be a huge black nothing.
i know there not going to be stencil i going to get Thermal printed out on to labels so basically there just stickers but what do you think off the design?
Mushroom, over all i like your stuff. I think that your detail sometimes brings it down though. Like if you look at Zebra's characs for example their very clean and somewhat simple but very effective. Looks like it could be a real cartoon. Your line shading and some detail brings yours further away from that look. Yet your characters are a bit darker obviously I would say if your going to stick with that style of shading then you should only do it on one side like in the first pic. Looks a lot better.
Fred and Herbn: Thanks alot, thats exactly the sort of crit i was after and i agree with everything your saying, especialy the details. Zebra's line dont even touch in some places and i think that really adds to the simplicity and make it look more "proper" if that makes sense. il try a few with less detail, mavbe no outline and not cut it out and see how that looks. No Kill like overkill eh Zebra? Dune (a friend of mine) has been posting these up everywhere near DC. Digging it, what if you added color?
The red one it looks like u may have sprayed too close as the lines have bled out a bit but then thay could just be the surface that u used, and your character needs more detail but I'm guessing that it is your first stencil? If so it's not bad keep it up
love your characters but the shading on the mushy is a little over kill stick to one side or have it more irregular... at the moment i think it looks more like texture on the mushroom so works well but on the can not so much (or the horse in your other flick). keep it up! just my 2 pence - peace
