@Brush Don't run your letters through each other, or stack them. Try simplifying it, the B has no back bone which is NEEDED. The E and O don't look too bad, I'd just make sure that you arent forcing your handstyles and that they aren't too complex for your skill level. Plenty of people try to do the artsy handstyles off the bat, and yes it does work for some people, but those are people who have advanced knowledge of letters. I'd work with more simple handstyles, pull inspiration from other writers and find out what style applies to what you want yours to look like.
Thanks for the help man, appreciate it. Definitely think I was trying to do too much with that last one. Tried to tidy it up some and switch the B. Am I headed in a better direction with this?
@brush A LOT better. I'd stray away from changing between capital and lowercase considering it can throw off the flow of your letters. With that said, I feel like you're forcing your letters straight and trying fairly hard to add style. Try letters with more curves than abruptly ended lines. Furthermore, there's not much of a reason to add extra lines or tidbits around your handstyle (I'm somewhat guilty of this myself.) For example the squiggly line at the top doesn't really serve a purpose. The extra things around a handstyle such as a halo, quotation marks, dots, underlining, arrows, etc.. should have a purpose and should tie the tag together. From the looks, you're just now learning to experiment with handstyles, and mistakes are perfectly fine and the main way to continue to progress. I'd keep all practice in the book for now and work on what I said above!
Brush, it looks like cholo gang graffiti. Write block letters and make sure they're all uniform. You won't progress unless you do that View attachment 643944 View attachment 643945
^nah that's not cholo graff. Cholo graff actually influenced a lot of cali and west coast graff scene Anyways go simpler with ur letters Brush Anyways this is another name I'v been working on, and I think it has better letters than my current name:
@sybe that streak is cool, although Im not feeling the painted one. It feels kind of messy and doesn't seem to flow to well. And your flares on the bottom seem a little too dusty
Thanks for sharing your opinion, granted I never asked for it and I don't want crits. Just here to post flicks Edit: yes I've been using flare tags everyonce and a while for the past year n a half
My seriously wack handstyles that iv'e been developing for 3+ Years. Still developing that shit, Don't hate though. -Truant.THD.NZSC.
