Most craft store don't have security on markers. But like I said before, take a girl with a big ass purse. You can put anything in it, you grab it, walk behind her, drop it in the bag, and keep on movin. No one suspects you, you just look like a poor chump on a craft run with your girl.
Ps, DO NOT leave packaging behind. If the whole package disappears, it looks like a sale, if they find the packaging, you blow the spot, then they lock shit up, and monitor that section. I can't stress that enough, DO NOT leave packaging. I work retail. Most big stores only keep a stock on hand number, which does happen to be wrong, quiet frequently. It's easy to mark it off as an error in the system. But when they find the packaging, they know it's stolen. Sorry for the double post.
I heard that a good way to rack was using one of those really big fast-food Wendy's/McDonald's whatever cups. You take the cup (one made with colored, not clear plastic), and fill it with however many markers can fit in there, and if the cup moves, it'll just sound like the sound ice makes when rattling in a plastic cup.
Did you get those all from michaels? I've never racked from there as I said that I fear the towers. If you did, it would increase my confidence and thanks for the help.
I got most of the prismas and paint markers from micheals. The copics came from a high end are store called dick blicks. But it's not to scary to rack from micheals. Just be really aware of who, and what's around. I've been known to take in a list of what I want. You honestly look less suspicious if you have a list, because you look like you're actually shopping. 90% of craft store workers hate there job, and could care less if you walk out with shit.
@noad @Abe I've heard that barcodes set off the alarms because there's a magnetic strip. Did you guys take the mag strip off or do markers not have one? I guess a good way to test this is to shove a marker in your pocket, but like a notebook and if the marker makes the towers go off just say you forgot to buy the marker and buy it.
No. That's false. What you should be looking for, if they have them, is a white strip, about a barcode length, but as skinny as a pencil. Those are the magnetic strips. They don't usually put them on individuals. To much cost then they're worth. Check the inside of packages for them. Usually in the bottom, or on the back of the package.
Thanks Abe, you have helped me with my confidence in racking markers. I will try it out when I head over to michael's next time. Hopefully things go well for walmart and michaels.
Thanks, Abe. I've read tips about shoplifting in general, but it would make sense that individual markers don't have the mag strips. It's weird to think you can just take something with enough confidence; our society can make shoplifting a marker seem like robbery to some people.
Agreed, but I love how my mom doesn't mind graffiti, she sometimes watches me practice on old wooden boards. My dad is the complete opposite so just makin sure.
Lol thats pretty fuckin gay bro. anyways, what are you even talkin about, you got a tiny penis. If im ever gonna get gay it sure as fuck aint gonna be with a tiny mafucka whose got big man syndrome and a tiny dick.
Stand back and receive knowledge step 1: grow balls step 2: open bag step 3: fill bag 4: fuck off and get a winter jacket with a powder skirt shits cash
Wal-Mart is probably one of the more if not most frustrating places to rack from. if your gonna rack from Michaels the one thing you have to look for is the cameras and employees. Their cameras sit up high but there's a lot of blind spots but the employees are always walking around the store, especially at closing time. And there's more quality markers than just prismas at Michaels. Most of their stuff doesn't have security tags on them so it's Damn easy if you know what you're doing.
