So, I'm trying to figure out some wildstyle-esque lettering for my first piece that is at least a little original (ikr, right? look to the Interwebz for originality. ). I have a sketch. Any suggestions as to letter proportion, styling, elements, or other stuff? It says "SAGE II". Thanks.
Look through toy forum it has lots of help seems to be we allask same question at the start and the same answer is given! You can't do wildstyle if you cand do a basic piece perfectly.
^^ True. Practice your basic letters first. Learn and understand letter proportions and structure before you try any sort of "wildstyle".
It's honestly better than most people who are new and even some who are old Not to blow smoke up your ass though, because it's still not particularly good
Go practice and check the graff masters, and not start useless stupid threads. Go simple first ,understand how letters work ...ah,There was a Sage battle a long time ago (if u havent seen this already)and i did one of my fav wildstyle pieces ever
Can't believe no one said it but: Arrows! Lot & lots of arrows!! And get a new name, Sage has been done a little more than 2 times, Sage 11 maybe, but really, new name is needed. That overlap of the A onto the G, the G onto the E, one letter cuts off the next, space that out better. Like people said, practice out simple shit, basic fonts, etc.
your bars are almost decent. structure is shitty tho and get rid of them harsh points, just cut em like you did in other areas
I have played around with basic lettering. Sage II was a 10-second improv based on some letters I threw down on a piece of paper. I guess I was being overly self-pompous when I used the word "wild-style" to describe that sketch, eh? I'll see what I can do to fix up my "style".
Your going to be terrible for a long time, graffiti is difficult. Then you get arrested and lose your job. Keep at it like a crack addict.
Head over to the Judgement thread for my new tag, which reads "TOY" (Yes, I wear the name with pride, fight me).
